Tessa and Stephen kissed each other silly out in the prairie.
It had been a long time since they'd been able to indulge in their love for each other. The fact of the matter was that they had been suppressing their feelings for each other during their day-to-day interactions.
Their restraint had only allowed their desire and longing to grow. Now that the dam was broken, they couldn't find it in themselves to stop.
When they finally pulled themselves apart, Tessa's lips were slightly swollen.
Still, they were both panting heavily after the kiss.
Tessa remained in a dazed state throughout the rest of the day, feeling as if she were in a dream.
Frankly, she still felt out of sorts even after she returned to the hotel that night.
They didn't return to their rooms immediately. Instead, they had chosen to spend their time at the hotel's garden, sitting side by side on a wooden bench.
Stephen gently wrapped his arms around Tessa and murmured, "Tess, let's get back together, okay?"
The lingering summer's breath teased their hair, and the streetlights glowed dimly in the night.
Stephen's dark eyes were deep and searching. His tone was careful, tinged with a hint of nervousness and anticipation. He was even holding his breath, waiting.
Tessa leaned into his embrace, her reply as soft as a wind's caress. "Okay."
The guillotine blade hanging above his heart turned to dust right that instant.
Stephen's pounding heart finally began to slow, thumping at a steady beat.
A faint smile appeared on his lips as he opened his palm to reveal a piece of wrapped candy.
Tessa rested her head on Stephen's shoulder and lowered her gaze to the candy in his hand. "Since when have you started carrying sweets in your pockets?"
Stephen was in a fantastic mood. So, there was an undeniable lilt of joy in his tone as he explained, "The hotel owner's daughter gave it to me at the lobby earlier. I saved it just for you."
Tessa picked the candy up and inspected it. "Peach-flavored? It's my favorite."
She unwrapped the candy and popped it into her mouth. The sweet taste quickly coated her tongue.
They leaned against each other, enjoying the warm evening breeze. A sense of content seemed to settle in their bones as they felt their hearts beat as one.
Time seemed to slow that very moment.
"Is it sweet?" Stephen asked out of the blue.
The candy in Tessa's mouth had yet to fully melt. In fact, she was still sucking on it as she replied around it, "Yes, it's very sweet."
His low and magnetic voice seemed to become even more seductive under the cover of the night. "Is that so? Is it as sweet as you?"
The night in the county was so quiet that she could only hear the sound of the breeze blowing past her ears.
She could feel a warm, gentle touch brushing against her lips. His kiss was as light as a feather.
Tessa's breathing grew careful in response to his barely there touch.
The kiss started off slow and gentle. Just when she thought this would be nothing more than a tender peck, Stephen's tongue nudged past her lips and delved deeper.
The brief touch immediately shifted to something more intense in just an instant.
Their lips slotted together like a perfect fit of a puzzle.
Tessa felt her heart skip a beat as the candy's peach flavor spread across their tongues.
Her breathing quickened within the confines of her ribs, and she soon found herself short of breath.
Stephen held her chin firmly, preventing her from pulling away from him.
His slightly calloused fingertips brushed alongside her jaw in a lover's caress.
He kissed her so sweetly and intimately that Tessa had no strength or will to resist, not that she wanted to.
She had no idea how much time had slipped past them before their lips parted.
The kiss had finally ended.

I know this isn’t Stephen’s fault but I still hated how he was so careless around this bitch even after Tessa already told him it’s obvious that this bitch likes him and she looked at Tessa with hostility. If Tessa breaks up with him again, I’ll even support her. Ugh. Good luck on winning Tessa back again, Stephen. Tss. I so hate these updates....
Nooooo! Not again! We don't need a twist like this. Is it too hard for the writer to conclude with..."and they live happily ever after"?...
Finally getting Stephen and Tess back together then to tear them apart with foolishness. This is craziness...
Yuhohoooo!!! Finally!!!...
Aaand~ Tessa and Stephen are finally back together! Yaaaaay!...
Why make an uninteresting, irrelevant twist when readers are waiting for Tess and Stephen to be together?...
Gosh just let Tessa and Stephen get back together already! Ugh...
Oh my god, when is this book finishing... they're not even back together yet and more nonsense side plots.....
Whoa! Hahahahahaha! Go, Sophia! Burn, stupid Rowena! Lol...
Sooo~ Chapters 310-318 were just a repeat of Jacqueline’s punishment, official expulsion from the Jacobson family, and arrest. With few changes since Tessa and Stephen are not together this time. So Tessa didn’t witness how Jacqueline was tortured at Stephen’s base, though at least Tessa was still called over and witnessed how Stephen officially expelled Jacqueline from the Jacobson family and how Stephen’s subordinate made Jacqueline grovel in front of Tessa. Lol. I hope Jacqueline’s really out of the story now....
