Angelina observed as Aiden removed his surgical cap and couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"This is the first time I've seen you like this. Surprisingly, you really do look like a doctor!"
"What do you mean 'look like'? I am a doctor, you know?" Aiden replied with a smile.
Karin chuckled. "You have to admit that Aiden looks quite handsome in this attire."
"Aiden is the most handsome man in the world," Dolly chimed in with a smile.
While they were talking, the doors of the operating room swung open, and Sally's bed was wheeled out.
Dolly hurriedly approached the bed and held Sally's hand. "I'm so sorry, Sally. It's all my fault." Tears welled up in Dolly's eyes as she spoke.
Simultaneously, Sally cried as well. "It's not your fault, Dolly. Maybe we just weren't meant to be."
Dolly accompanied Sally to the ward. As they walked, Angelina silently remarked, "Sally must be in a lot of pain."
Just a while ago, Dolly had briefed them on the entire situation outside the operating room. After hearing Sally's story, both Angelina and Karin expressed heartfelt sympathy for her.
"Perhaps the current situation is a blessing in disguise for her," Aiden said calmly.
Karin furrowed her brow. "But it's still a life."
"It's just that the baby didn't come at the right time." Aiden sighed.
It wasn't that Aiden was indifferent to life. Instead, it was the reality that Sally had to face eventually. It would be a life lesson for Sally that everyone makes mistakes, whether big or small. They believed this experience would be unforgettable for Sally throughout her life.
In the hospital ward, Dolly held Sally's hand and asked, "Sally, how do you feel? Does it still hurt?"
"Not at all!" Sally replied with a bright smile.
"Sally, do you know that my heart was pounding wildly when the doctor said your vital signs were rapidly declining? Thank God that Aiden is here." Dolly exclaimed with lingering fear.
Sally nodded in agreement. "I felt like I was about to die just now, but then a big hand pulled me up. Then, I saw Aiden right after I woke up."
"Before Aiden went into the surgery room with the doctors, most of them claimed that there was no hope in saving you," Dolly said with a smile.
"Dolly?" Sally softly called.
Dolly leaned closer to Sally's mouth and asked, "What's wrong, Sally?"
"Do you think he can feel the pain? Will he hate me?" Sally's tears started flowing again as she spoke.
Upon hearing Sally's words, Dolly's heart ached, and she quickly reassured her, "Sally, he won't blame you. It's not your fault!"
Meanwhile, Aiden was about to take Angelina to Sally's ward when the dean of Prime Hospital, Nathan Conwell, hurriedly ran over from outside. Nathan was taken aback upon seeing Aiden standing outside the operating room. "Dr. Finnegan, you couldn't do anything either?"
In a split second, Derrick, who had just come out of the operating room, hurriedly said, "Mr. Nathan, the surgery is already over!"
"What? The surgery is already over?" He exclaimed in surprise.
Derick nodded. "Yes, and the surgery was very successful. The patient is out of danger and has been transferred to the normal ward. I didn't expect Dr. Finnegan's surgical technique to be so superb!"
