That was a possibility Elissa hadn't considered.
After all, the Murphy Group's biggest business had once been real estate. With Rowan's personal wealth, if he claimed to be second in Vistapeak City's property market, no one would dare claim first. The apartment across the hall was just a rental for him. Besides, his primary residence, Rivercross Residence, was only a few miles away!
Elissa was momentarily stunned. "You're not going back to Rivercross Residence?"
"Nope," Rowan said, his tone utterly shameless. "I'm going to whoever made me homeless."
"..."
That was just like him.
Elissa paused, wiping away the shampoo suds that were about to run into her eyes. "Then I'll just ask the professor and his wife to move over here."
"Fine by me," Rowan chuckled. "Go ahead. Go wake up the old couple in the middle of the night."
"..."
Elissa finally understood his game. He had probably planned this whole thing from the moment he arranged for her professor to stay across the hall. What a schemer.
"I'm in the shower," she said.
"The passcode is the same one I sent you before."
With that, she hung up and went back to her shower.
As she heard the faint sound of the front door opening and closing, her thoughts began to race. It wasn't that she'd never stayed at Rowan's place before, but this was the first time he had come to hers.
Her mind was a jumble. After rinsing the shampoo from her hair, she squeezed shower gel into her palm and, in a daze, started lathering it into her hair again.
