“You lying; bitch!” I yelled, grabbing a fistful of her hair. She screamed, clawing at my hand as I dragged her out into the hallway.
Her shrieks must have carried because moments later, Dominic appeared at the other end of the hallway
“What the hell is going on?” he demanded, striding toward us.
I didn’t let Eliza go until he was close enough to intervene. She stumbled back, clutching her head, her face a mixture of anger and pain.
“She’s insane!” Eliza wailed, pointing a shaky finger at me. “She attacked me!”
My threat tightened as Dominic hauled Eliza to her feet. The image branded itself in my mind: the man I’d loved holding up the woman who’d ruined everything,
“She’s pregnant, Faith!” Dominic thundered, his voice full of anger, like that was somehow a justification. “How could you do that to her?”
I laughed, the sound hitter and broken. Tears blurred my vision, but I would not let them fall. “She’s pregnant?” I repeated, my voice shaking in incredulity. “That’s your excuse? You have to protect her now because she’s carrying your or child?!”
Dominic opened his mouth, but I cut him off, taking a step closer to him, my voice shaking with raw emotion. “You have to choose, Dom. Right here, right now. If you want her, then line. But I’m taking my son, and I’m leaving ”

The room spun. The air left my lungs. His words hit harder than any physical blow ever could
“Excuse me?” I managed to get out in a whisper,
“You heard me,” he said, his jaw tight. “Caleb stays. He’s my son, and he’s staying here.”
Something inside me snapped. “There is no way in hell I’m leaving my son with you and this.” I gestured toward Eliza, who was smirking through her feigned tears. “This madwoman! You two deserve each other!”
