Adelaide paused, her cedar pheromones steady and calm. “I didn’t time it exactly, but it was about five or six minutes,” she said, her tone even and detached.

Adelaide bowed and said, “Okay, I’m heading back now.”

Stepping out of Lycan Erasmus’s study, Adelaide let out a small sigh of relief.
