A Female Alpha’s Revenge (Adelaide) novel Chapter 648

Chapter 648

From a Third-Person Perspective

Paisley’s sentence was abruptly interrupted. She and Ampelio spoke almost at the same moment, each finishing the other’s thought. “Then I suppose I’ll take all of you… what?” she said, a hint of surprise in her voice.

Originally, she had only planned to accept Ellen and Anilo as her students. Ampelio was definitely not on her list.

Yet, she hadn’t anticipated Ampelio’s swift response, jumping in before she could finish her sentence.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Ulrik subtly shifting forward, and that sudden movement startled her so much she immediately rose to her feet. Hastily, she declared, “Fine, I’ll only take the three of you as students! Anyone else interested can train with the group. But I have to leave now—there are things I need to attend to.”

In truth, Ulrik had also wanted to join and improve his fighting abilities.

He had once considered himself quite formidable, but after witnessing the combat prowess of Adelaide and her trusted circle along the Southern Border, he finally grasped the meaning behind the saying, “there is always someone stronger.”

Still, he would never agree to have Paisley as his instructor.

To Ulrik, Paisley was simply a headstrong, overly confident young she-wolf.

No matter how skilled she was in battle, she wasn’t worthy of being his teacher.

As Captain of the Lycan King’s Personal Wolf-Guard, accepting a young she-wolf like Paisley as his mentor would make him the subject of ridicule and undermine his authority among his subordinates.

Besides, in his mind, the difference between “Coach Paisley” and “Teacher Paisley” was negligible.

Without further delay, Paisley swiftly left the scene.

The truth was, she didn’t want any students at all. However, Adelaide was now in charge of the Ironthorn Guard, and if the fighting skills of the werewolves remained so poor, Adelaide would be forced to intervene personally every time trouble arose. Paisley didn’t want to see her overburdened on their account.

Two days later, Anilo and the others organized a dinner party, inviting Paisley and specifically requesting Lance and Adelaide to attend as witnesses.

From the moment Paisley agreed to come, she began to regret her decision.

Her spirit was one that cherished freedom above all else. Taking on students felt like chains binding her—it was far too confining.

Moreover, she was younger than all three of them. It wasn’t that she lacked the ability to command respect, but she thought it unnecessary to formalize their relationship with a master-student title. Wouldn’t simply being their coach suffice?

“The Purple-Gold Moon Devourer Blade?” Anilo’s excitement was so intense he nearly jumped out of his seat.

A wolf’s respect for a fine weapon was almost as strong as their pride in their bloodline.

He was proficient with both sword and blade, but the explosive power of his wolf-shift was better expressed through a blade. “Thank you, Teacher! I’m truly grateful!”

He accepted the blade, his wolf claws lightly brushing the runes on the sheath, causing a soft hum to emanate from the steel.

“Ampelio.”

Ampelio sat rigidly, his body tense. After the assessment, he had agonized over one question: “Will other werewolves mock me if I take a younger she-wolf as my teacher?”

But now, watching Ellen and Anilo receive such magnificent weapons, his only regret was hesitating for even a moment and letting them go first.

He rubbed his still-swollen cheek—Adelaide had beaten him so fiercely that his entire body ached, and his lip was split, causing a slight lisp—but he immediately straightened his back and replied firmly, “Present!”

Paisley truly hesitated to accept this man who had been so arrogant before and was now so humble. Yet, seeing the once prickly, condescending wolf sitting there dutifully addressing her as “Teacher,” she finally relented, out of respect for Adelaide.
