Early the next morning, Emily called Jack to let him know that she was about to leave for Tarthy.
In the afternoon, he went to Uriah to request a leave of absence. When he entered the office, he saw Uriah busily writing something.
After Jack handed over the leave request, Uriah put down his pen and frowned, staring at him.
He remembered that Jack had just taken a leave not long ago. And now, he was asking for more time off, especially during this crucial period of his junior year.
Seeing Jack's calm expression, Uriah decided not to ask any questions. Instead, he signed the form and handed it back to him.
This was a stark contrast to Uriah's previous attitude. Before, he would have questioned Jack endlessly. Maybe he had already given up on him.
Jack, once a top scholar in the state, had been someone Uriah placed great hopes in. However, by his third year, Jack had not demonstrated any outstanding qualities.
Skipping classes, getting into fights, and constantly taking leave had made Uriah lose faith. He had even concluded that Jack would likely achieve little in the future.
Still, he signed the leave form. Perhaps one day, this once-promising student would look back and regret his lack of ambition.
For Jack, having his leave approved was a huge relief.
The next day was Saturday, and only Samuel and Ronnie were in the dorm.
Isaac and Joshua had gone to Northvale Province for a basketball game and wouldn't be back for a couple of days.
The CUBA tournament was becoming increasingly intense. Under the leadership of Joshua and Isaac, Alnewgo University had already advanced from the Calisota region. Now, they were competing in the National Elite 16 Tournament. As a result, they were often away from the dorm.
Jack reciprocated generously, embracing Tristan as if all past grievances had been resolved.
Then, the family made their way to the top floor of the Sandalwood Group building.
Meanwhile, the women at the welcome party were all buzzing with gossip.
They hadn't expected the scion of Sandalwood Group to be so tall and handsome. If one of them could become his girlfriend, it would be like climbing to the top of the social ladder.
Back at home, a lavish feast was prepared to welcome Jack. In the afternoon, the family got into a reinforced, bulletproof Rolls-Royce. A large convoy made its way to Alnewgo Airport. There, a private Gulfstream jet from Sandalwood Group was waiting for them.
In about two hours, they would arrive in Tarthy.
