A Life Beyond Limits (Jack Holland) novel Chapter 611

Wesley leaned over to read the news and saw Jack's name clearly with a photo attached.

Although the people appeared slightly further in the picture, one could still distinctly notice the person's features.

Wesley's eyes widened, and he thought that his eyes were deceiving him.

After reading the summary, he stuttered, "T-This is my high school classmate. He's my childhood friend. I'm 100% certain!"

The fat man looked at Wesley disdainfully and said, "You're bluffing! Don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong. I can also say that we shared a diaper as kids."

"I'm sure it's him! He's also the top scholar in the state for the college entrance exam. How could I not see his potential back then?" Wesley swore.

Under the fat man's scrutinizing and somewhat skeptical gaze, he sprinted out of the dorm and rode his bike to the mountain behind the school.

Wesley rode with great effort, huffing and puffing. Finally, he lay down exhausted on the hillside.

He gazed at the streak of sunset hanging over the mountain, its golden light casting a gentle warmth across his face, providing him with an indescribable comfort.

After lying down on the hillside for a while, he finally took out his phone and video-called Jack. "Hello, Jack. How have you been lately? I haven't heard from you in a long time. Are you suffering from the pain of your breakup with your girlfriend?"

Jack answered lightly, "I'm doing well lately. I thought you were busy getting cosy with your girlfriend, so I didn't want to bother you."

Wesley picked up a pebble and threw it in the lake opposite him. Then, he said, "Damn! Why do you sound so drained? Don't tell me your girlfriend broke up with you.

"Did Phoebe leaving for Vexburg hit you that hard? I always thought you were an optimistic person. Don't tell me you now have feelings for Linda Sherbet."

"You guessed it right. I do have a thing for her, but she doesn't even acknowledge me. Don't laugh at me. Remember, I once found a whole stack of unsent love letters to Linda in your notebook! Luckily, you had some self-awareness and knew that Linda would never give you the time of day."

"What the heck! You…" Wesley shrieked.

He ended the call and shoved his phone into his pocket. Then, he rode his bike and sprinted for five kilometers. He didn't stop until he was utterly exhausted.

He fell to the icy grass and stared blankly at the sky. He recalled walking in the fields and fishing with Jack during the winter break. He also remembered working hard to improve himself over the summer break, wanting to close the chasm between him and Jack.

Not long before, he had even sarcastically joked with Jack at Phoebe's birthday party that Jack, Phoebe, and Feena were from different worlds and that Jack would eventually become as average as he was.

Yet now, with a dazzling turn of fate, Jack had become a victorious conqueror of life.

Jack Holland was no longer in the same league as them. This year, he became an overnight sensation.
