Glen, who was normally a rational person, lost all his composure in an explosion of anger.
Pax raised his wine glass and tried to give him a toast. "Don't be angry, Glen. Here, have some wine to take the edge off."
Glen responded by shoving Pax aside and yelling at him, "Fuck off!"
Things wouldn't have turned out this way if it weren't for Pax and Tony. Glen even delivered a powerful kick to Pax in his fit of anger, causing Pax to fall miserably to the ground, though he did not dare to retaliate. To the side, Tony's face had drained of color, and he quickly hid himself in a corner to avoid Glen's wrath.
Naturally, Jack, Zane, and the others were unaware of the chaos that was unfolding within the hotel. The air outside was crisp and refreshing. Frank had already left with Lucius and his party, leaving Jack and the others behind.
With gratitude warming his heart, Jack turned to look at Zane, Neil, and the others. He said, "Thank you for backing me up today."
Neil couldn't help himself and smacked his fist lightly against Jack's chest. "What are you thanking us for? Do you really need to be so formal with us considering our tight bond? Who's going to help you out if not for us? Besides, their attitudes were way too horrible, and they were practically trying to insult our intelligence."
Leo nodded and added, "I didn't think that Glen was that type of person. I see him for who he really is now."
"He has turned into someone completely unrecognizable after spending a few years abroad," Zane muttered as he sighed to himself.
"To be honest, I've never liked how those who studied in Angleria carried themselves. They think they're better than everyone else just because they went abroad and learned how to ballroom dance. All those bastards scorned me because I didn't know how to dance. It's fucking ridiculous," complained Leo.
Jack smiled and said, "I'm sure everyone didn't get to have their fill of food earlier because of what happened. Why don't we find somewhere to sit down and keep eating? You guys can decide on the place. My treat."
The life of a student was innocent and filled with wonderful moments, even if there are bumps here and there along the journey.
Jack hoped that the genuine friendships he shared with these people would be able to stand the test of time. He hoped that even if they were to go their own ways to find their purpose in different corners of the world, they would still keep these warm memories close to their hearts.
…
Meanwhile, in Tarthy City, Emily and Quintis were taking a leisurely stroll in the garden of their estate. They could see the bustling town of Seresto in the distance.
Since it was nearing the new year, excitement permeated the surrounding air. Even those who were standing atop a mountain could see how Seresto was bathed in a kaleidoscope of colors as fireworks exploded and lit up the sky above it. It was a breathtakingly beautiful sight to behold.
