Wilhelmina wasn't privy to all the details, so she couldn't assess which party reaped the most benefits from the deal, but she felt a sense of relief wash over her when she heard about Jack's Genesis Games closing its doors for good.
She could still remember her first meeting with Jack. She had first met him during a banquet, and his lame demeanor had left a sour taste in her mouth.
Wilhelmina was a woman who had received an excellent education, and she hoped that her husband was someone who she could discuss the trends of the world with. She didn't expect him to know too much about the news, but he needed to at least be able to ballroom dance during certain social occasions. He also needed to know how to leisurely ride horses alongside her and could travel around the globe with her while imparting knowledge upon her regarding the places they were visiting.
Her future husband also needed to be able to protect her when they were in danger—Wilhelmina couldn't help but think about the masked man who had rescued her during the plane hijacking incident. Disappointment welled up in her heart when she thought about how she would never meet that man again in this lifetime.
Jack was a far cry from her image of an ideal husband.
When they had been discussing yachts, he had stared at them in confusion. When they had been discussing luxury watches, he had said that he hadn't a clue regarding the brands they were talking about. When they were discussing horse races, he had no idea about the pedigree of the famous horses.
When it came time for them to dance, he revealed that he didn't know how to ballroom dance. It was much too humiliating.
Wilhelmina had a tough time imagining what her life would be like if she had to spend the rest of her life with such a man, but she had no doubt that it would be utterly boring, to the point of hopelessness.
Jack may be the heir of the Lycan family and would one day inherit the massive wealth that they possessed, but he had grown up in a poor living environment, so his principles and outlook on life were completely at odds with Wilhelmina's. Mentally, Jack was nothing but a pitiful beggar.
Wilhelmina had to give credit where it was due—Haven Net's huge success and the amazing power it had gathered was incredibly impressive for a company that had only been established for two years. Furthermore, there were rumors circulating that the founder of Haven Net was an extremely talented Zargonian.
"But who could it be?" she wondered.
Since Haven Net was not a public-listed company, such information was still kept under wraps. The founder had also never made a public appearance, so no one knew of his true identity. However, he was already referred to as the pride of the Zargonians for being able to establish such an impressive company that took the world by storm.
News of Genesis Games being acquired by Haven Net had even reached Joanne's ears, indicating just how huge this news was within the country.
