Chapter 81: Most Romantic Pictures.
“Open up. Ivy” Silas said, knocking softly on the door.
Ivy bit her lip, trying to suppress the heat in between her legs. She leaned against the door, as if to block him from entering.
“We’ll see tomorrow, Silas,” she said, her voice low, almost apologetic
“You can’t just decide not to follow the rules, Silas said firmly, though he wasn’t sting. “The contract says we have to be together publicly.”
“But we’re not in the public, Silas,” she countered, growing irritated by his persistence.
“It doesn’t matter. We still have to act like a couple regardless,” he said, softly this time.
The gentleness in his voice sent a shiver through her, but she shook her head. She couldn’t let him know how she felt. She couldn’t let him come inside–not because she was afraid of him, but because she was afraid of herself
“Open the door, Ivy. What are you afraid of?” he teased, chuckling.
Heat crept up her face. He knew. And she freaked out.
“Get another room, Silas,” she said, trying to take control of the conversation. “You can book this entire floor if you’re scared someone might find out ”
He went silent for what seemed to be a long time. When he finally spoke, his tone had changed–serious, but not cold.
“Have a great night, Ivy” he said, and shortly after, she heard shuffling of feet.
When Ivy was certain he had gone, she finally moved away from the door. Yet as she climbed into the bed, regret curled inside her chest.
Why couldn’t she just give in to the temptation?
She took a pillow from the stack and placed it in between her legs. She was hot with pleasure, and wished she had brought Aunt May’s gift along.
She squeezed her thighs around the soft fabric, slowly increasing the pressure. She rocked the pillow, biting her lips to stop herself from shouting.
Still it wasn’t enough. It wasn’t quenching the heat inside her so she slid a hand between her legs. She tapped her clit, finding the source of her need.
“Silas…
Her core pulsed, wet and desperate. She increased her pace, clenching onto the duvet
“Silas,” she moaned again, her body trembling.
“Silas,” she moaned louder, pleasure surging through her veins,
She closed her eyes and let her imagination run wild. She pictured Silas—half–naked. She touched his chiseled chest, trailing her fingers over his neck. Slowly her hand dropped to his waistband where she found him hard and ready for her.
Ivy gasped as the wave of release poured out of her…
She sighed as she lay still to catch her breath. After some moments, she forced herself out of bed. She went to the bathroom and took a quick cold bath. When she returned to the room, she jumped on the bed and fell asleep almost immediately.
Ivy’s cheeks burned with embarrassment as she woke up the next morning. She giggled as she remembered last night. She got out of bed, and cleaned up the mess she made.
She had pleasured herself to the thought of Silas. And damn, the feeling was foreign–but good.
Her phone buzzed, interrupting her thoughts. She took it from the bedside table, and her blush deepened when she realized it was a message from Silas.
“We’ll be having breakfast at 8am. The dress code is black. We’ll be visiting
g some nice pl
places today. Please don’t be late”
She glanced at the time–7:10. She still had plenty of time to prepare.
Ivy’s thoughts drifted to Mason and his ridiculous behavior yesterday. He hadn’t called–not that she expected him it made her wonder if he had left already.
She still had no idea what Mason had said abc. Successfully unlocked! ankly she didn’t care.
She was in a very good mood, and she intended to keep it that way all day.
She found a black top and matching skirt from the neatly arranged box and got ready for breakfast. When she opened her door, she found Bud waiting outside.

“Good morning, Bud,” she greeted with a smile.
“Good morning, malam.” Bud replied with a nod. “Ready for breakfast?”
“Absolutely” She smiled again and followed him
warm,
As they walked downstairs, Ivy was surprised to see that breakfast was set up outside. The morning sun in Fiji was w and it added to her good mood
Slas was seated under a small blue canopy, sipping coffee. He smiled when she approached him.
“Good morning”
“Good morning” Ivy replied, pulling out a chair. Heat crept up her face as she sat
Silas was dressed in a black shirt too, with his hair neat and trimmed.
“They eat really heavy here in Fiji,” he remarked, gesturing toward the table.
She glanced at the table. Avocado toast, pancakes, smoked salmon, poached eggs–there was so much food
“I can see that,” she said, nodding.
“And get this,” he said, leaning forward. “They have sugar cane juice!” he exclaimed, laughing. 1 have never had that in my life.”
Ivy laughed at his expression. “I never knew you could get juice from sugar cane.”
“Fijians will get juice from anything he chuckled, taking a sip from his cup.
Now, Ivy wasn’t sure it was coffee anymore.
“Well, they also have lovely places to see, Silas continued. “And we’ll visit them by noon.”
His statement brought back all the emotions she had buried, and she became uncomfortable.
Silas seemed to have sensed her discomfort. I know, I know” he sighed. “I’m sorry. I really wish there was another way”
“Are there photographers around right now?” she asked, even though she already knew the answer.
He nodded, avoiding her gaze.
Ivy swallowed her emotions and forced a smile on her face. There was no point focusing on her hurt. This was a deal, and she had to play her part regardless.
“It’s fine,” she said. “This was why I signed the contract, remember?”
Silas studied her, his expression unreadable. “Ivy-”
“Oh, come on,” she cut him off, standing up to serve herself. “Let’s just focus on giving the public the most romantic pictures ever.” Her voice wavered slightly, but she coughed to cover it up.
She served herself a plate of avocado toast and a glass of sugarcane juice before she sat down.
Silas didn’t say anything, but she could tell that his eyes were on her. She munched on her food, scalding herself inwardly for showing her pain.
“So, where else would we be going today?” she asked, changing the topic
“Just sightseeing for today: Silas said, sipping his drink. “Do you want to do something else?”
“No,” she said, shaking her head. “I was just asking.”
Silas leaned forward, and across the table, he placed his hand on hers. His touch sent a shiver rippling through her.
“We don’t have-
–
Thankfully, he was interpreted by the ring of his phone. He removed his hand, glancing at the screen. “Excuse me,” he said, standing up.
Ivy nodded, heat creeping up her cheeks. Why was she reacting to his touch despite the unnecessary pain in her heart?
Before she had an answer for that, Silas was back at the table. As he sat, she noticed the look on his face.
“Are you good? she asked.
Ivy saw the hesitation in his eyes before he spoke “I just got off the phone with Thomas.”
Her stomach churned with fear. “Okay?”
Silas sighed, rubbing his temple. “The owner of the building we purchased for your business…. she’s not selling autore
Her heart dropped. “What? Why?”
Silas averted his gaze. “She sold it to Mason.”
Ivy stood up, tears welling up in her eyes.
“I want to go to Silas. Let’s go home.”
Chapter 82: Flying Back To California.
“Oh…are you sure?” Silas asked softly. He stood up just as Ivy did, his eyes searching hers
“Yes,” Ivy said, averting her gaze.
He could tell she wanted to cry but was holding it together. His heart shattered as she sniffled and coughed to hide her
emotions
“I just want to go home,” she said sadly
He wanted to hold her hand, to comfort her, but she was already ahead of him–moving faster. He exchanged looks with Bud as they watched her go.
“Bud will help with your luggage,” he called after her.
Halfway into the hotel, she tumed briefly. “Don’t worry, I’ll do it and dashed in
Silas’s heart shattered as he entered the hotel. He didn’t even know the full details yet–only that Thomas had called. sounding distressed. This honeymoon had been doomed from the start, but he hadn’t wanted to end it. Too much had gone into planning it. Now, all of it was for nothing
As he stepped into the elevator, he dialed Thomas’s number. There had to be a reasonable explanation for this sudden change.
“Hey. St Thomas answered, his tone weary.
“Hey, Thomas,” Silas said as the elevator doors slid shut. “I don’t understand. Why did the seller change her mind?”
Thomas sighed heavily. “I have no idea. She was supposed to sign yesterday. I thought giving Ivy the documents when you guys got back from the honeymoon would be a nice surprise. But Ms. Josh suddenly backed out.”
Silas stepped out of the elevator and headed to his room–well, one of his rooms since he had booked all the rooms on that floor.
“I still don’t get it,” he said, feeling confused. “Did you two have a fight?”
“No, nope,” Thomas replied. “She just changed her mind. She also refunded us immediately, too.”
“And she told you Mason got the place?”
“No, but she hinted at it. Sab confirmed it,” Thomas said. “The worst part? She also pulled two of her other properties from my care. She doesn’t want to work with me anymore, and she won’t say why”
Silas leaned against the door, trying to steady his heart. He knew how awful Thomas must be feeling, but he also knew his brother would never speak about his pain openly.
“We’re coming back home,” he said gently.
“Oh, Si. You don’t have to. Thomas replied. “I’m already working on another building for Ivy. How is she, by the way?”
Silas’s heart shattered as he remembered the expression on Ivy’s face–the fact that she couldn’t even conceal her pain.” She’s upset,” he admitted. “Which is why we’re coming home today.”
“Mason keeps ruining everything. Thomas hissed. “All our hard work, and for what?”
Silas sighed at his brother’s tone as he unlocked his door. He sat on the couch, crossing his legs, his head racing with
thoughts.
“How did Mason know Ivy bought that building in the first place?” he asked, his chest tightened as he realized he knew the
answer.
The leak.
An uncomfortable knot tightened his stomach.
Thomas sighed. He knew the answer too. “We’ve to find that person before the damage gets worse.”
“How do we even begin to do that?”
“A step at a time, Si Thomas said. “We’re getting close to finding the person who hacked my laptop. When we do f who it is, we’ll know if it’s the same person as your side.”
Slas sighed. To acknowledge that there was a leak on his side was to admit that someone close to him wasn’t loyal. And that angered yet terrified him.
“I’ll try talking to Ms. Josh again,” Thomas con Successfully unlocked! ny she really changed her mind”
Silas sighed, rubbing his temple in frustration. “Alright. Let me know how it goes.”
“Definitely.” Thomas said. “See you later.”
“Bye.”

Despite the emotions coursing through him He found his voice “Are you alright, you need anything?
“No, thank you,” she replied, straightening up the adjusted and turned towards the window where she then rested her
head
Silas’s heart sank. He had ruined the moment with a stupid question. He thought about teasing her anything to make her smile, but the sadness on her face discouraged him.
Instead, he adjusted himself and stared out the window too
When they arrived at the airport, the staff assisted with their luggage. In no time, they were flying back to California
Ivy slept throughout the journey, though he drifted in and out of sleep too, but he kept checking on her
“We’re here,” he said when they landed
“Hurray,” Ivy murmured sleepily, stretching
Silas helped her off the plane, leading her toward his green Panther, where Victor was waiting
The drive home was distant and quiet, but as they pulled into the driveway, his phone buzzed. An unknown number was calling
His heart fluttered as he walked away from the car, hoping this call had nothing to do with Ivy
“Hello?”
The first thing he heard was a gush of liquid, followed by a loud gulp.
“You know,” a voice slurred, “I keep telling myself I deserve everything you’re doing to me.”
Silas frowned. The caller was drunk. “Who is this?”
“Hold on, the voice said. “Let me vent, because I know you’ll hang up the second you find out.”
Silas said nothing, but he was curious
“I know I fucked up, but you have to eventually forgive me, Silas.”
Silas narrowed his eyes as he tried to recollect who this was. Then it clicked.
“Dylan,” he said flatly. “What do you want?”
“You, Silas. I want you,” Dylan said “I miss our friendship. And I hate that you’re too stupid to see how important you are to
me
“Is this an apology or what?”
“A vent,” Dylan snapped. “Town half of that company. I put in the work! But you’re cutting me out over a girl? FYI, Kim was a slut. I did you a favor”
Silas had no patience for this–especially not when Ivy needed him. T’m not doing this with you right now.”
He ended the call immediately, and went back to the car. He figured Ivy was in her room so he went there.
He knocked “Try“”
She opened the door and ran into his arms. His heart ached as he realized she was crying
He held her close, rubbing her back “Let it all out,” he murmured
She sobbed softly against his neck. After some moments, she looked up at him with tear–filled eyes
“Thank you” she whispered
Silas took her to the bed, and laid her down gently. She nestled in his arm, and he played with her hair, kissing her forehead. Silas’s heart drummed. If she wasn’t so sad, he would have been doing something else to her on the bed
