“What do you mean by ‘that’s not what I meant’?”
“Mr. White, aren’t you just trying to cover for your daughter?”
Calliope was clearly annoyed. She shot Jett an unimpressed look, her tone sharp.
Jett felt like he’d just been thrown under the bus. Calliope definitely came off as strong, maybe even a little pissed. The thing was, he hadn’t done anything or even said much—so why was she coming at him like this? Still, her feisty attitude kind of reminded him of Lillian. He couldn’t bring himself to dislike her. In fact, she seemed sort of… entertaining.
“Can you tell me what actually happened, Miss?” Jett asked, turning toward Portia. Then, he glanced at Lisette. “Lisette, can you just tell the truth? We’ve got cameras all over this place, so let’s clear things up.”
Lisette’s face tightened. She couldn’t figure out whose side Jett was on, and it made her uneasy.
“Dad, here’s what happened,” Blythe jumped in. “Lisette accidentally bumped into that girl, and then the other girl really wouldn’t let it go. Next thing I know, they’re yanking each other’s hair.”
Jett gave Blythe a look. “Blythe, I wasn’t asking you. I want to hear from them. You’re friends with her, so you’re not exactly neutral. Let’s let them speak for themselves, or we can just check the security footage. That’ll show what really happened.”
Calliope looked a little surprised that Jett wasn’t blindly taking Blythe’s side. But it made sense—this was between Portia and Lisette, not Blythe.
Portia and Lisette both kept quiet, so Jett just had someone pull up the security footage.
“Honestly, looks to me like you’re both in the wrong,” Jett said eventually. “So, I’d say that makes it even.”
Calliope shot him a pointed look. “Mr. White, are you just trying to sweep this under the rug? Lisette started it.”
Blythe looked like she wanted to argue, but she just nodded. “Yeah, I get it.”
“Alright, nothing left to see here. Go have fun,” Jett said.
Lisette and Blythe ran off, but this time they stuck close to Calliope and her friends.
Calliope didn’t join in right away. She let Portia take the first turn, planning to jump in when she was ready.

This is starting to be the same twister of abilities as Cassandra Yates and Tiffany. But question is, why the hell Silas can't just open his mouth and tell Caliope that she's the one whom he has in his heart. He would prevent a lot of misunderstanding. Seems like despite capability of talking with modified arctic wolf, she's not like telepathic....
Oh no, so FL is again another hidden genius with both hemispheres working on hundreds... Ffffuuuu. Cassandra Yates and Tiffany were already enough, ughugh. And Tiffany was even more exaggerated than Cassandra....
That's weird, in the first chapters there was said that her bio parents and bros doteď on Caliope but then they adopted Lisette, but this chapter suddenly says otherwise. Did author forget what he wrote?...
