Abandoned Luna Now Untouchable (Cecilia) novel Chapter 17

Cecilia

Back at my new apartment, I placed my time capsule on a shelf. There was no need to destroy it-it contained more than just memories of Xavier. My life had always been bigger than just him.

My phone rang. Xavier’s name flashed on the screen.

Had he sensed our marriage’s impending death? Was this the final burst of energy before the flame went out completely?

I let it ring without answering or declining. When it stopped, a message notification appeared.

Rolling my eyes, I opened it-only to discover it wasn’t from Xavier at all. Liam had finally responded.

Had Sebastian Black finally decided what he wanted from me?

I opened the message from Liam with trembling fingers.

“Alpha Sebastian will be meeting a client at Amanson Hotel this Friday. Perhaps you could deliver the suit there, Cecilia.” [What?]

I stared at my phone, question marks practically exploding in my mind.

Sebastian wanted to see me again? At a hotel? And not just any hotel-Amanson was secluded enough that you could scream bloody murder and no one would hear you.

What exactly was the powerful Alpha planning?

I didn’t dare make assumptions. It wasn’t that I lacked courage to pursue an opportunity placed right before me. Rather, I couldn’t read this enigmatic man’s intentions. I simply wanted to focus on my career, not entangle myself in more complications.

After deliberating for several minutes, I decided to mirror his cold treatment and not respond.

Two hours later, I drove out.

As soon as I turned out of the gate, I saw the familiar Ferrari.

1 hit the brakes in an instant.

Xavier in the car was leaning back in the passenger seat, smoking a cigarette that swirled around his face with a gloomy expression.

I took a deep breath, quickly rehearsed all possible coping plans in my mind, then drove the car over, took the initiative to get out of the car, opened his co-pilot’s door and sat in.

“What are you doing here?” I spoke coldly, my eyes looking straight at him, “Are you following me?”

He didn’t speak, just picked up his phone from the dashboard and threw it into my arms.

1 looked down and saw that it was the registration form for the residents of the Lantern Garden Community.

It turned out that he came to raise an army to question him.

I didn’t have any emotional fluctuations, I just calmly handed back my phone back to him, and my tone was as calm as if I was talking about the weather: “I have been working for so many years and bought my own house. Is there any problem?” His eyes were as cold as ice: “Why are you hiding it from me?” *

“I don’t feel obligated to tell you.” I said in a calm tone, “I paid the down payment for this house myself, and I didn’t use a penny for you.””

He laughed coldly, as if he had heard some absurd joke, and a sarcastic mockery surfaced under his eyes, “When have I ever been stingy with you in terms of money? Which piece of jewelry I gave you is not more expensive than this house?” I didn’t respond.

Because he never ünderstood that the jewels were never what I wanted.

The next moment, he pulled out his wallet, pulled out a few black and platinum cards, and threw them on my lap. The cards spilled like playing cards and stuck cold against my skirt. “Do you want to buy a house? As you see fit. It’s all written in your name. You can buy as much as you want. It’s good if you’re happy. ”

1 laughed, and laughed at all without warmth.

Thank you,Alpha Xavier, for being so generous.”

Maybe I should accept this “compensation” and continue to play the canary who spends money without blinking, numb and obedient, and be a beautiful toy under his control.

This sounds so easy.

But I’m not willing to give up.

I picked up the cards one by one and put them back into his wallet, my movements were gentle but firm.

“I don’t lack a house now. I’ll talk about it when I need it in the future.” I gently put my wallet back on his lap, like ! gently returned the relationship.

He was speechless for a moment, as if he hadn’t figured out what I was angry about.

I was about to open the door and get out of the car, and he suddenly grabbed my hand, his eyes as sharp as a hawk, staring at me.

i could tell he was relaxed. He thought it was just my little woman’s rebellion, moving a house, buying an apartment, paying for it myself, just to show him that I could be independent.

It’s just a harmless “temper tantrum”.

“IIl send you back.” He said.

“What about my car?”

“IIl have someone drive you home.”

He didn’t wait for me to object, and just locked the car door.

I can only acquiesce.

For the next few days, I tread carefully and hardly went out.

I speculate that his reaction the moment he learned of his divorce: outburst, questioning, impulsive.

I’m not going to confront his wrath head-on, I chose to travel abroad after that to give him a buffer period.

He will eventually understand that this is not a spur of the moment, but a decision I have already made.

Cici will definitely force him to respond. And I, leaving quietly, was the easiest choice for him.

The phone rang, it was Harper.

“There’s something I want to tell you,” her tone was a little more solemn than usual, “pay attention lately. Dora was moving so much that I wondered what she was brewing.” I sneered: “Don’t worry. The divorce agreement has not been signed yet, and she does not dare to act rashly.”

She’s probably busy venturing right now, saying that Xavier and I are dead in name, that our marriage is coming to an end, and that he’s going to marry Shadow Pack’s daughter.

Say whatever she wants.

I don’t care anymore anyway.
