Abandoned Luna Now Untouchable (Cecilia) novel Chapter 23

Cecilia

I hit the floor hard, feeling the cold marble against my palms. The pain was sharp but stant compared to the turmoil in the room.

Xavier hadn’t even recovered from the shock of my demand for divorce when Ciel’s next words froze everyone in the ballroom.

“Xavier, she’s filthy now!” Ciel screamed, her perfect makeup cracking under her rage.

“Last night she slept with eight men! One of them even has AIDS! She’s dirty, she’s ruined she’s absolutely disgusting! How could you still want her?”

I struggled to contain her rage as I pushed myself up from the floor, my injured wrist throbbing with each heartbeat.

The entire ballroom fell into stunned silence I could practically see the thoughts forming in everyone’s minds: Eight men in one night? Someone with AIDS? Was this even possible?

Then came the inevitable question that flickered across every face: How did Cici know these detaits so precisely?

From the corner of my eye, I saw Dora sway slightly, her face draining of all color, suddenly resembling parchment.

I stood up, dusting off my dress with deliberate calm, and fixed Cici with a look reserved for something one might scrape off the bottom of a shoe.

” hadn’t even gotten around to settling scores with you yet,” I said evenly, “but you’ve gone and confessed everything yourself. Stupid and evil-what a combination.” I turned to Dora, whose mouth opened and closed like a fish gasping for air. ts this your idea of a proper Luna? Someone who commits crimes with you? Someone who’ll shore a prison cell with you?”

Xavier’s expression had transformed into something terrifying-cold, dark, murderous. The ballroom temperature seemed te drop several degrees as his wolf, Kael, unteashed the Alpha’s power in the hall.

The White family members shifted uncomfortably, their earlier confidence evaporating as they began to understand the implications.

The whispers started again, but with a different tone: “Did Cici and Luna Dore set Cecilia up?*

It would explain everything-my injured wrist, my dramatic entrance, the blood mixing with wine. Even the most promiscuous woman wouldn’t willingly sleep with eight men In one night, especially knowing one was infected. No one would deliberately harm themselves that way.

Why are you all looking at me like that?” Ciel shrieked, still not grasping the gravity of her admission. “Don’t listen to her! She’s the one who acted like a whore! She has AIDS: stay away from her before she infects you all!”

Before she could finish her tirade, Xavier’s hand shot out like lightning, wrapping around her throat and dragging her forward. His eyes burned with murderous Intent, a deep growl rumbling from his chest that was barely human.

What did you do to her? he snarled, his voice dropping to that dangerous Alpha timber that made everyone’s wolves instinctively submit. “WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?” His roar echoed through the ballroom, raw with pain and fury.

Cici clawed at his hand, her face turning purple as she struggled for air. The reality finally seemed to dawn on her-he truly looked capable of killing her right there.

Her brothers reacted quickly, prying Xavier’s fingers from Cici’s throat and pulling her behind them protectively.

“Xavier, calm down,” Gavin urged, his own Alpha power rising to meet Xavier’s. “My sister might just be talking nonsense.”

Judy White, Cici’s older sister, stepped forward with the protective instinct of pack females. “Even if it were true, you can’t accuse Cici without evidence! What if Cecilia couldn’t handle being alone and went out looking for company? What if Cici just heard about it and that’s why she knows? Maybe Cecilia realized her behavior would eventually reach your ears and created this elaborate victim scheme to frame my sister!”

1 almost laughed at the absurdity. But I remained silent, watching the performance unfold.

Some people needed the spotlight a little longer before the final curtain.

Sure enough, taking her cue from her sister, Cici immediately transformed into the picture of innocence-tears streaming down her cheeks in perfect crystalline tracks.

“Xavier, how could 1 ever do something so horrible?” she whimpered, her voice soft and breaking, “My friend saw Cecilia at a hotel, entering a room. By coincidence, before she went in, my friend noticed several men going into that same room. One of them is notoriously promiscuous and infected.”

She dabbed at her tears with delicate fingers. ” wasn’t going to say anything, but she was so cruel earlier.*

“The bond isn’t forged by timing-it’s forged by truth,” she said, chin lifted with maddening pride. “Paper vows mean nothing if they weren’t marked by the heart. What we have is real. She’s the one intruding on what was never hers to begin with.” The sheer shamelessness of her logic disgusted everyone in the room. The wives and female Alphas present-experts in dealing with homewreckers as part of their daily routine-looked like they wanted to spit in her face. How could anyone be so utterly shameless?

“You truly don’t fear karma, do you?”

1 reached into my purse, retrieved my phone, and tapped the screen a few times.

Suddenly, Cici’s voice filled the baltroom:

*Xavier doesn’t want to answer your calls…Did you enjoy the studs arranged for you?

Let me tell you a secret-they’re not just into extreme stuff, one of them has AIDS… IN have them give you another drug injection soon to spice things up…”

*By this time tomorrow, footage of you writhing beneath eight ferals will be everywhere.

The pack will see. The council will see. Your name will be ash.” Then, softer-almost giddy:

“And while you’re drowning in disgrace, Xavier and I will be celebrating our bond announcement. Pack leaders, nobles, ranked bloodlines.., everyone will be there.”

“Yes, I stole your man and your position… But my future will be happy and smooth, growing old with Xavier… As for you, you’ll just slowly die in agony, hahaha..” Her maniacal laughter echoed through the hall like something from a horror movie

The White family tried to send someone to grab my phone halfway through the recording, but a young male guest blocked their attempt. The room had had enough of their bullying.

When the recording ended, the ballroom fell into shocked silence once again. Most of the guests were stunned by Cicis malice and shamelessness, their disgust extending to Xavier and Dora by association.

Cici’s face had turned ghostly white. Seeing Xavier’s murderous expression-like he wanted to flay her alive-she cowered behind her brothers.

Suddenly, she pointed a trembling finger at Dora and wailed, “Luna Dora forced me to do it
