"Miss Penny I’m so glad you’re okay." Hughes said to her miss. She has been so scared that is why she informed others about what was happening.
"I’m fine, but I have to leave now before he wakes up." Penny said calmly.
"There’s no need rushing. He cannot harm you anymore, I will never allow it." She nodded at her father’s words, wiping the tears that fell from the corners of her eyes.
But Penny knew Osvaldo too well. That was wasn’t normal. The years of chemical he has injected in his body trying to fight madness has turned him into something else. Nothing could stop him, not even the devil.
"I’ll go with you miss Penny. I cannot miss the birth of your child." Hughes wiped her tears too.
"But Osvaldo..."
"I’ll watch over my master. Besides if Hughes stays behind, he might kill her for betraying him." Barnaby interrupted staring at Hughes. It would be the first time he would stay away from her and he couldn’t tell how long. Not after they had only just accepted to loving each other.
But he knew it was for the best. If Hughes stays, she dies. As for his master, maybe now is the best time to give him and antidote Penny had made for him. He had saved it for the right moment, and now seems like the best time.
Osvaldo needs to focus on taking out the enemy that killed his parents else, they might come for his wife and child.
"She’s right Mr Bloodsworth, leave revenge for me and my master. Take your daughter far, a place where my master will never find her no matter the connections because the Adkins army will look for her." Xavier nodded.
"Let’s go." He said to Penny who stepped inside the car along with Hughes and they left.
All through the drive Penny cried. She just couldn’t stop herself. She has given Osvaldo chance and chance again to change his mind and he didn’t. He really wanted to ruin her.
Maybe she was just not meant to love anyone. Maybe in this life, her life has been predestined to be horrible. From her mother to her first love Chris and now Osvaldo. She should have never gotten caught up with any of them.
"Everything will be fine Miss Penny." Penny nodded at Hughes words. She knew everything will be fine, but for now she was heartbroken.
When they arrived at the airport, Xavier stepped out of the car and spoke to a few men. In no time, a jet was made ready and Penny was out of the country for the first time in her life.
She was starting a new this time, leaving Osvaldo and everything she knew behind. Including her life as a scientist and everything she knew.
Maybe she could start up her drug discovery in the new country.
Now standing by the jet door, she stared down at her father.
"Aren’t you coming with me?"
"I’ll visit you when I have the chance along with your uncle and Aunt. For now, stay safe." Xavier said. It hurt him to see his child go, but he knew she would be safe wherever she is. Any country was better than this place with the madman.
Penny stepped in and saw the door close slowly, then she sat with Hughes who tried to cheer her a little, even though that wasn’t working at all.
She had been betrayed by a man she loved. Nothing hurts more than that.
----
Back at the Adkins estate, Barnaby walked into the mansion to see broken vases and shattered glasses dangling from one side of the mansion to another. It must have been Penny when she tried to escape from the mansion.
He started walking into all the rooms and then finally found his master’s naked form on the bed. Osvaldo’s golden eyes were wide open, signalling he was awake, but he couldn’t move or speak yet.
His Penguin had really ruined him this time.
"Master, Barnaby is here to take care of you." Barnaby announced calmly for his master to close his eyes. Osvaldo knew if Barnaby was here, then Penny had probably left him.
As if he could read his master’s thoughts, "Miss Penny, she’s gone with Hughes master. You have nothing to worry, the Adkins heir, will be protected at cost." Barnaby could see his master fingers twitch.
