That earned a strangled laugh out of him, low and cough. He shook his head, not in denial but like he was past pretending. “Obsessed doesn’t even cover it.”
That pulled her attention. She turned, hazel eyes catching his. He didn’t look away.
“This morning,” he said, voice raw. “Having you against me while he… while I couldn’t move, couldn’t touch you the way I wanted–1 hated it. And I loved it. And now it’s in my head like a fire I can’t put out. It’s burning me alive, Lola. And even sitting here, right next to you–it’s not enough. I want more. I’ll always want more.”
Her breath caught,
t, chest tightening. Christ, he’s gone for me. Completely gone.
“I never thought I’d get this close,” he went on, quieter now, like confessing cost him. “And now that I do–it’s worse. Bigger. I’m ruined, and I don’t ever want it to stop.”
Her pulse thundered. Slowly, deliberately, she set her bowl aside and shifted, careful of her ribs, until she was kneeling on the rug in front of him. His whole body went taut, eyes wide, breath snagging like he couldn’t believe what was happening.
She tilted her chin up, hazel eyes sparking. “If it’s burning you alive,” she murmured, “then let me be the fire.”
The words ripped something out of him. His chest heaved, his hands flexed helplessly on his thighs.
She reached for his wrist, guiding his palm to the back of her neck, sure and steady, “I’m going to start,” she said, voice low, deliberate, like a vow. “But when it’s too much–when you’re close–you’re going to hold me here. You’re going to take control.”

And without waiting for him to argue, she leaned forward, her mouth opening over him–hot, sure, devastating. His groan cracked through the room, tough and unguarded. She smiled against him, because she’d put it there.
God, yes. That sound. That’s mine.

Christ. He couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t think. She was on her knees in front of him, mouth hot and relentless, and every nerve in his body was screaming-
She’s fire. She’s goddamn fire and I’m the idiot begging to burn.
Her hands braced on his thighs, her eyes lifting to lock with his. That look–dating, demanding–snapped his restraint in half. His fingers tangled in her hair, grip tightening, holding her steady. He guided her rhythm, then gave up guiding entirely. He took

The pressure colled haid, white–hot, threatening to tear him apart. “Close,” he ground out, voice ragged. His hand locked firm at the base of her skull, holding her exactly where he needed her, his hips snapping harder, rougher, all control gone.
And she took it. Every desperate thrust, every shuddering breath, her eyes never leaving his until he broke
The edge detonated. His body seized, his groan raw, ripped from the pit of him as he came undone against her mouth. The world collapsed into heat and pulse and the impossible fact that she’d chosen this–chosen him.
When the storm ebbed, he sagged hack against the couch, chest heaving, hands trembling as he loosened his grip in her hair. She pulled back slow, lips swollen, and rested her cheek against his thigh like a queen surveying her conquest.
Nico stared
stared down at her, ruined, reverent. His voice came hoarse, shaking. “Lola… you just ruined me.”
And God help him–he never wanted to be whole again,
