Chapter 26 One Week Away
After hanging up the phone, Emma rolled happily on the bed.
She was finally going to have a mate.
In this vast interstellar, she would no longer be alone.
That night, Emma stayed excited for a long time before finally falling asleep.

The next day, Damian sat on the couch and waited until 8:30 a.m. before seeing Emma come downstairs with dark circles under her eyes.
“Ms. Tibarn, did you not sleep well last night?”
Damian looked at her with confusion.
Was it because of that stupid snake beast that she lost sleep?
“I just went to bed a little late,” Emma said.
Thinking of Edric, she couldn’t help but smile. “It’s fine, I’ll take a nap later.”
After saying that, she went straight into the kitchen.
Damian immediately followed.
He watched as Emma moved smoothly while making breakfast. The smell from the pan made him swallow
hard.
“Ms. Tibarn, what are you making? It smells so good.”
Emma explained in a good mood, “This is made with herbs. It’s called a pancake. This is bacon, and these are dumplings made with beast meat and herbs.”
Pancakes? Bacon?
He had never heard of them, but they smelled amazing.
Damian looked at Emma with hopeful eyes. “Ms. Tibarn, can I eat some?”
“Of course.” Emma nodded.
Fishing always needed bait.
She gave him half a piece of bacon and a pancake..
“I’m sneaking these to you. Eat them quietly and don’t tell Drake. He paid star coins for this food, so it wouldn’t be good if he saw you eating this. And it can only be this one time. Next time, I can’t do this.”
Just this little?
It wasn’t even enough to fill the gap between his teeth.

Damian stared at the small piece of bacon and the pancake, not satisfied, but he couldn’t push Emma to give him more.
This little female’s impossible to handle.
“Thank you, Ms. Tibarn. You’re so good to me.”
Damian took the plate and looked at her with gratitude.
Emma smiled and turned back to her cooking.
Sitting at the table, Damian first took a bite of the pancake. He didn’t know what herbs it was made from, but it was soft and fragrant. With the sauce Emma had made, it almost made him dizzy with delight.
The bacon, paired with the pancake, was incredible..
Damian finished it in just a few bites. He sat at the table, still wanting more, and stared at Emma with longing eyes.
Emma had already served Drake his food. Seeing Damian’s expectant face, she told him seriously, “I can’t give you more. If you want to eat, you’ll have to pay like Drake. As the lady here, I can’t show favoritism. Don’t you agree?”
Watching Drake eat calmly at the table, Damian swallowed hard.
Fine, then he wouldn’t eat.
With nutrient fluid, he wouldn’t starve anyway.
No one was going to get even one coin out of him.
“Ms. Tibarn, I’ll never make things hard for you. I’ll work hard to earn money, so I can make sure I get to eat in this house.”
After saying that, Damian resisted the urge to hand over star coins and quickly left the dining room.
He went straight to his room, pulled out a nutrient fluid with the best flavor, and opened it.
But for some reason, after eating Emma’s cooking, these nutrient fluids tasted bland and dull.
They weren’t good at all anymore.
After breakfast, Emma looked at Drake sitting across from her.
“I’m going out tomorrow to hunt beasts. I won’t be back for a week, so I won’t be able to cook or give you mental comfort during that time.”
“You’re going alone?” Drake asked, looking at her.
“Damian will come with me.” Emma replied.
She’s taking that for?

Drake frowned slightly. “Do you really think that fox will protect you?”

Damian had the strength of an eighth rank, yet he kept holding himself back to the fifth rank in front of Emma. He clearly didn’t want to do any work.
“I don’t need him to protect me. I can protect myself.”
Emma had never expected Damian to defend her. She knew very well he didn’t care if she lived or died.
After leaving the dining room, Emma went straight to the training room.
Since she was heading out tomorrow, she wanted to get herself into the best condition before leaving.
Before entering, she sent a message to Edric.
Emma: ‘Edric, I’m going to train now. The training room doesn’t have a signal. If you need me, just send me a message. I’ll reply when I come out.
Toward Edric, Emma’s attitude was completely different from that toward Damian.
With Damian, she was casual, always looking for ways to trick him.
With Edric, she responded to everything and showed real care.
She never let him feel ignored.
Just as he boarded the starrail, Edric saw the message from her and couldn’t help but smile.
Emma was thoughtful. She told him everything she did.
It gave him comfort, making him feel that even though they hadn’t met yet, he already had an important place in her heart.
