The way he looked at me–like he wanted to devour me whole–made me feel both powerful and utterly vulnerable.
“Alexander,” I breathed, reaching for his belt. “Let me-”
“No,” he cut me off, catching both my wrists and pinning them above my head with one large hand. “You don’t get to touch. Not yet.”
With his free hand, he traced a path down my body, from the hollow of my throat, between my breasts, across my stomach, to the waistband of my underwear.
His touch was feather–light, maddening in its restraint.
“You think you can manipulate me?” he asked, his voice low and dangerous. “Push me until I break? Two can play that game, Sarah.”
He slipped his hand beneath the thin fabric, his fingers finding me wet and ready for him. I couldn’t help the moan that escaped me as he circled my clit with torturous precision.
“So wet for me,” he murmured, sounding pleased and predatory all at once. “Tell me, is this how wet you got for him too?”
My brows drew together. “Who?”
His gaze sharpened, a dangerous glint flashing there. “The one you were looking at through me.”
I went still, breath catching. The only man I’d been thinking of–longing for—was him.
The realization hit me so hard I almost forgot to breathe. “Alexander-”
“You were ever this wet for him? You letting him mark you, claim you?” he cut me off, fingers still tracing maddening circles as if nothing in his voice had changed.
The question left me speechless, my mouth opening and closing without a sound.
His fingers moved faster, more insistent, drawing relentless circles until my body arched against him.
Then his mouth dipped lower, and his teeth closed around my nipple in a sharp, claiming bite that made me
gasp.
“I’ll make you forget him,” he murmured against my skin, the promise dark and absolute.
“Stop it,” I hissed, tears pricking at my eyes.
He leaned down, his breath hot against my ear. “Did he make you come like this?” As he spoke, he slid two fingers inside me, curving them in a way that had me gasping. “Did he know exactly how to touch you?”
I turned my face away, ashamed of how my body responded even as his words tore at my heart.
“Look at me,” he commanded, his voice leaving no room for refusal.

I met his gaze, my eyes wet with unshed tears. Something flickered across his expression–a brief crack in his cold facade.
“Tell me he didn’t ruin this for you,” Alexander said, his voice suddenly rough with an emotion I couldn’t name. “Tell me you can still feel good.”
Understanding dawned, stealing my breath. He wasn’t just staking a claim–he was jealous… of himself.
“He didn’t,” I whispered, my voice catching. “He never touched me like this.”
I lied.
The lie tasted bitter on my tongue, but I couldn’t bear to give him the truth–not when his eyes burned like that.
The admission seemed to break something loose in Alexander. His mouth crashed down on mine, the kiss no longer punishing but desperate, almost reverent.
He released my wrists, both hands now framing my face as he kissed me deeply, thoroughly, like a man starved.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, drawing him closer, lost in the sensation of being wanted—truly wanted for the first time in years.
