In times like these, Bai Meiyue was willing to keep their child and even give birth to him; she could have aborted the child and lived peacefully. But she didn’t. She allowed their son to grow inside of her and have a chance to live a proper life. In the future, he would make sure that Xiao Cai Cai understood the sacrifices his mother had made for him and respected her just as much as Lei Qian did.
Bai Meiyue didn’t know the thoughts of the man beside her had undergone so many changes in just a few seconds. She finished her prenatal examination in silence while Lei Qian stood next to her side, even though he could have gone back home.
She asked the little nurse, "Is the pain in the tailbone going to get better or is it going to stay until I give birth?"
"It varies from person to person. Some pregnant women will only feel nauseous at the start of the pregnancy, while some will feel awfully nauseous throughout the entire pregnancy. For some women, getting pregnant and giving birth is not difficult because they won’t have to stay in labour for more than an hour, but some women stay in labour for more than two days. Every woman has her own experience, as pregnancy is different for everyone. I cannot give you an answer because there is always a possibility that your tailbone will stop hurting or it will stay the same throughout."
Bai Meiyue sighed when she heard the response of the nurse; she knew that this was going to happen but at the same time she wondered why her tailbone didn’t hurt this bad when she was pregnant the last time. She paused and asked, "Is it because I am eating too much?"
When the nurse heard her response, she curled her lips and then said to Bai Meiyue, "Well, the weight of the child is indeed a factor related to the pain of the tailbone, but I will suggest that you continue with the current nutrition. In fact, it will be better if you start adding more protein to your diet. The pain of the tailbone is indeed a bit troublesome, but it’s better than having trouble when you go into labour. Think about it, carefully, alright?"
"Yes, Yes, the nurse is correct, Yueyue. Don’t think too much; I will start rubbing your back and legs; that way, you will not feel troubled in the future," said Lei Qian in a hurry. He was afraid that Bai Meiyue would start starving herself because of the pain.
In truth, he thought too much. Bai Meiyue was not scared of pain. She had once almost lost her entire arm and then had it stitched back before the tendons could lose their senses. That too without any anaesthesia. She cared for her son more than she cared for herself. How could she even think of starving her precious child?
She was just asking for a remedy which could be used to ease her pain, such that she could sleep better for the proper growth of her son. But since it was not possible, Bai Meiyue didn’t quibble any more.
Once she was done with the ultrasound, Lei Qian brought her to his mother, who was holding the blood report, a frown etched on her face.
