Bai Jixuan was sure that there was something that his brother was not telling him, but he had no evidence. He looked at his brother and kept staring at him until Bai Zhan started to feel nervous under his gaze.
"What are you looking at me for?" Bai Zhan asked with a frown. Though he didn’t show it on his face, he was actually quite nervous inwardly; the way Bai Jixuan was looking at him was as if he could see right through him, and this feeling was not good. Did his brother realise that he was lying to him? Since when did Bai Jixuan become so sharp?
"I think that you are lying to me, Brother Zhan," said Bai Jixuan. His eyes were narrowed as he continued staring at his elder brother, who started to sweat while trying to suppress the nervousness in his heart. However, Bai Zhan knew that he couldn’t betray his sister, and given how loudmouthed Bai Jixuan was, he was afraid that if he told the truth to him, the man would certainly leak it to someone he shouldn’t.
"What do you mean? How can I be lying to you?" Bai Zhan rolled his eyes while suppressing the uneasy feeling in his heart. "Go and get Ah Qian. We are going to bring the supplies to the safe base and hand them all to Bai Feng and Fox." Bai Zhan was not willing to help Bai Feng, after all; that man had once tried to kill Bai Meiyue. But he also knew that Bai Feng couldn’t die. Not yet. That man had to stay alive; only he could deal with Yu Miaomiao for the time being.
Fox was not as strong as Bai Feng. So, if Bai Feng died, then Yu Miaomiao would certainly come knocking on their safe base.
Bai Jixuan’s mind was diverted at once, and he turned around on his feet and jogged over to the training grounds, where Lei Qian was teaching the young and newly awakened fire users how to conjure small fireballs.
Bai Zhan watched him leave and heaved a sigh of relief. Fortunately, it was easy to divert his brother’s attention or else he would have been in
quite trouble. Bai Zhan, who was not a good liar, couldn’t lie even if his life was dependent on it. Thus, it was quite a surprise that he could hide the truth from Bai Jixuan till now. Raising his hand, he wiped the sweat from his forehead and went to the kitchen to get something to drink.
"You are back?" Mother Bai walked out of the kitchen when she heard the sound of footsteps echoing in the silent mansion. After the mansions were allocated to everyone in the team, their main mansion had turned rather silent, and her hearing had become much clearer. Mother Bai also felt that her eyesight and her body had gotten better, but she couldn’t understand how it even happened. She recognised Bai Zhan even when he was quite far away and walked over. "What happened? You didn’t find the plane that your sister asked you to look for?"
