Scandal, Arrest, and Accusation
The hall outside Room 8868 was pure chaos Hotel guests peered out of their rooms, smartphones recording every second of the unfolding drama Tanya’s screams echoed down the corridor as she lunged at the blonde woman again, catching a handful of hair extensions that came loose in her grip,
“You home–wrecking whore!” she shrieked, swinging wildly.
The blonde ducked, but Tanya’s other hand caught her across the face, leaving angry red scratch marks from her manicured nails. Blood beaded along the woman’s cheekbone.
“Get this crazy bitch off me!” The blonde woman clutched the sheet around her nearly naked body, mascara running down her face.
My father tried to separate them, his dress shirt unbuttoned and hanging open. “Tanya, stop! Think of your blood pressure!”
Wrong thing to say.
Tanya whirled on him, her face contorted with rage. “My BLOOD PRESSURE? You’re screwing some cheap prostitute and you’re worried about my BLOOD PRESSURE?”
Her fist connected with his jaw before he could respond. Harold staggered backward, crashing into a decorative table. The vase on top shattered across the hallway floor.
“Ma’am! Sir! I need you to stop immediately!” Two police officers pushed through the growing crowd of spectators. One was young and looked overwhelmed: the other was older with the weary expression of someone who’d seen this drama play out too many
times.
Neither Tanya nor Harold acknowledged them.
“How many?” Tanya screamed, pounding her fists against Harold’s chest. How many whores have you fucked while our daughter is dying
The blonde woman seized this moment to make her escape, clutching the sheet tighter as she tried to sidestep the fighting couple. Tanya spotted her and lunges

again
Oh no you don’t
The older officer intercepted her, wrapping his arms around her waist. “Ma’am, you need to calm down NOW.”
“Get your hands off me! Tanya thrashed violently, her elbow catching the officer in the face. He staggered back, hand flying to his nose.
That was it. In seconds, both officers had Tanya face–down on the carpet, handcuffs clicking into place around her wrists
“You’re under arrest for assaulting an officer,” the younger cop said, sounding almost apologetic
Harold moved toward them. “This is ridiculous! She’s just upset-”
“Sir, stay where you are. The older officer, blood dripping from his nose, pointed at Harold. “You’re also under arrest for solicitation and causing a public disturbance.
“What? I didn’t solicit anyone! She’s… she’s a friend!”
The blonde woman snorted. “Friend? Honey, you paid me five hundred dollars for two hours. That’s not friendship.”
Harold’s face went pale. “Shut up!”
“Sir, hands against the wall.” The younger officer pulled out another set of handcuffs while his partner maintained control of the still–struggling Tanya
watched it all from a safe distance. Vera beside me with her mouth hanging open.
“Holy shit she whispered. “This is better than any reality show.”
Fcouldn’t disagree The sight of my father being handcuffed while wearing only boxer shorts and an open shin was something I never thought I’d see. The woman who had wrecked my mother’s manage was being dragged away screaming And the prostitute who had helped expose it all was being escorted to a separate police car. still wrapped
in hotel bedsheets
at was perfect chaos
“Ma’am, were you involved in this incident?” A third officer approached us, notepad in
band
Vera squeezed my arm. I shook my head.
“No, officer We were just passing by and saw the commotion.
He nodded and moved on to question other witnesses. As the police led my father past us, his eyes locked with mine. The hatred there was palpable, but beneath it was something else–the dawning realization that I had orchestrated his downfall.
I smiled pleasantly. “Have a good night, Dad.”
His face contorted with rage. “You little-”
“Sir, you have the right to remain silent,” the officer cut him off, pushing him forward. “I suggest you use it.”
As they disappeared around the corner, I felt a weight lift from my shoulders. Six years of watching him treat my mother like garbage. Six years of him choosing Tanya and Ivy over me. Six years of enduring his slaps and verbal abuse.
And now he was getting exactly what he deserved.
“Are you okay?” Vera asked, studying my face.
I touched my bruised cheek lightly. “I’ve never been better.”
The next morning, my phone rang at 7:15 AM. Alistair’s name flashed on the screen.
considered ignoring it, but curiosity won out. “Hello?”
“What the hell have you done?” His voice was tight with controlled fury.
“Good morning to you too, Alistair.”
“This isn’t a joke, Hazel! The police arrested Harold last night. It’s all over social media There are videos of him being led out of the Hilton in handcuffs!”
examined my nails casually Fascinating. What did he do?”
vered AfAR
“Don’t play innocent. You reported him, didn’t you?”
For what
Prostitution! Public fighting! There are videos of Tanya attacking some woman, and now they’re both in jail!” He was practically shouting “Do you have any idea what this will do to the company’s reputation? To our family name?”
“Your family name was tarnished long before this? Lreplied coldly And I find it
interesting that you’re more concerned about reputation than the fact that my father was cheating on his wife while his daughter is supposedly dying.”

This had the potential to be a really good read, unfortunately it is inconsistently contradictory and all over the place....
