Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1265

Chapter 1265: Ready

Quiet Flame quickly narrated the battle between the Drazmael god and Vortharion’s. By the end, Atticus had already taken on a serious countenance. He was strong.

’And his will is like iron,’ Atticus began to ponder.

Lyress’ will had been death, and while neither naturally had an edge over the other, it was still better than iron.

While Atticus could probably pierce through it, he would have to converge his will into one place to do so as quickly as he wanted.

But that had been what the Amazonian empress had used to bait him. His body would be vulnerable without his will enveloping it.

’Hopefully it has some kind of weakness like hers.’

His thoughts shifted to Lyress. The strategy Atticus had used on her had been simple, keep her from respawning her legion, and then go into hiding using Singularity.

He had been glad to find out that Lyress didn’t change the mana signature around them like that empress had. And because of that, he had been able to negate mana and create a singularity that hid his movements, striking when the time was right.

Atticus shook his head after a moment. There was no point pondering it now.

’I’ll know when we fight.’

He nodded at Quiet Flame, and the latter offered him a smile.

"Good luck on your last scenario. I wish you all well."

As Quiet Flame vanished, the room turned silent once more as everyone began to meditate, trying to recover as fast as possible.

Quiet Flame reappeared inside a different room, the smile still on his face.

’Looks like they’re back.’

He glanced at the seats of the other stars. They were all seated, waiting for the last scenario of the Virelenna to begin.

A fight that would decide the winner of the Virelenna, the sole god that would ascend to the Middle Planes.

Quiet Flame smiled. Somehow, he loved the current air in the room. It was heavy, drenched in what he had no doubt was anger.

First, Crimson Hollow had been knocked out of the competition. And now, Dreaming Sea had suffered the same fate.

But it could be said that Dreaming Sea was far more shaken than Crimson Hollow.

Lyress of Somnera had been her strongest contender, and she had lost. Lost to that child. She had lost to Atticus.

It had been the first time he fought someone from her world, and she had been utterly baffled by the result.

He hadn’t even been pushed back. It hadn’t been a close fight where he scraped out a win by pushing himself to the brink. frёeweɓηovel_coɱ

’No. He still had more to give.’

Even as the battle ended, Dreaming Sea had seen it clearly, he hadn’t been drained.

What the hell was he?

That was the thought Dreaming Sea had when he hovered there, just after the fight. What the hell has Quiet Flame been nurturing all this time?

Now his words before the Virelenna were beginning to make sense.

He could actually win this.

Quiet Flame laughed. "I couldn’t agree more. The weak, no matter how powerful they pretend to be, will always be reminded of their place when they face the truly strong."

Iron Crown’s gaze narrowed, but he said nothing. It stung that he didn’t have a retort.

"The next few moments will tell," he said coldly, and then ignored him completely, eyes fixed on the screen.

Quiet Flame eventually stopped laughing and focused as well. And as the rules of the scenario flashed across the screen, his gaze couldn’t help but narrow.

...

"The next scenario is starting. You will be teleported in one minute. Get ready."

Atticus and the others were already on their feet, hands close to their weapons, gazes sharp and serious.

"It’d be easier if they just freaking stated the rules!" Ozeroth muttered, shaking his head. He had long since stopped brooding over being called a virgin earlier. The others couldn’t help but agree with his words.

It would’ve been helpful if they were actually told the rules.

"There’s nothing we can do about it. Just get ready," Atticus said.

"I’m always ready," Ozeroth replied confidently.

Atticus turned and looked toward the others, each one gave him a nod. They were ready.

He nodded back.

The one minute passed quickly, and a bright light enveloped the group. In the next second, they vanished.
