Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1271

Chapter 1271: Gaze

There was a heavy silence. And considering the staggering number of people that gathered, it was significant.

It only goes to show the shock that gripped the army of the world Vortharion.

However, in that silence, Atticus gripped his katana.

Ozeroth brandished his twin hammers.

Thunder crackled across Magnus’s form.

Aric swept his broadsword to the side, a savage aura spilling from him.

Zenon’s arms morphed into twin blades, expression frigid.

The tension spiked, stretching thin, until a panicked voice suddenly boomed from the skies.

"What the hell are you staring at!? Fucking attack!"

Elesha’s roar snapped the army out of their trance. Expressions hardened, arms on weapons tightened, and they looked down towards the group, ready to rain hell once more, only to realize... they were already gone.

Atticus’ blade was out of its sheath before anyone even realized. He went for the big ones. The warships.

He moved at unseen speeds. No sound echoed in his wake. No streak of light.

The only sign of his presence... was the deafening explosions of thousands of warships imploding in the skies.

Debris rained down like meteors. The skies ignited in a blinding scarlet, torn by fire and smoke, the scent of burning metal flooding the wind.

Ozeroth went for the mountains. His figure tore through the terrain, leaving a golden trail in his wake.

His hammers met the mountain like judgment.

A shockwave of roaring force blasted out. The earth quaked as though hit by a grade ten earthquake.

Cracks tore up the ranges, splitting stone into massive chunks. The peaks shattered, tumbling like crumbling towers.

Magnus went for the smaller airborne aircraft. Clouds had cloaked the skies, rumbling with thunder that shook the heavens.

Then, lightning.

Magnus became a streak of blinding electricity, zipping through the sky, past each aircraft.

Each one exploded into shards and flames as he passed, their wreckage falling like shattered birds.

Aric went for blood.

He screamed through the battalion soldiers that had plummeted from Ozeroth’s sudden attack on the mountains. Eight swords spun around him in a spiral, and his broadsword swept like a scythe.

He left nothing but blood and gore in his wake, so fast, not even his victims had time to scream.

Red rained from the skies.

Lastly, Zenon focused on another flank of the battalions, zipping past their ranks, shredding them apart without a shred of hesitation. Limbs flew. Screams echoed. And Zenon didn’t stop.

The expressions of the Warbringers changed violently.

Their auras exploded instinctively.

"Still think they were wrong?" Elesha asked. But there was no smugness on her face. Only dread.

Dekon couldn’t find any words. Neither could the others.

What had just happened... had stunned them that much.

Many swallowed hard.

This trap had been crafted solely to deal with the child god. The beams of mana had been designed to rapidly change their signatures, so he couldn’t negate them.

She had doubted it at first. But the words had come from their star, so she believed.

Yet somehow, as she met his gaze now, as she saw the boundless light within it, as she felt as though her entire being laid bare... all her doubts vanished into thin smoke.

He was the real deal.

"No—!"

Atticus’ katana was all that engulfed their visions before Elesha could speak.

One moment, he had been across the battlefield, tearing through warships. And in the next, he was upon them, katana slashing out.

The expressions of Elesha and the Warbringers changed violently.

Slashes of azure light tore toward them from every conceivable angle, throats, hearts, heads, limbs... even crotches.

They clenched their fists, expressions snapping back into focus.

They were Warbringers. The best their world had to offer. Warriors, ones who never froze at the first sign of danger.

Their minds moved fast and the Mana answered their call, just as the slashes reached them.

An explosion of insane magnitude ripped across the sky, sending a quake through the earth.

The haze it left behind was thick, and it covered the sky.

Elesha burst out of it, eyes wide, heart thundering in her chest.

She shot her gaze through the haze to assess the damage... only for her eyes to tremble.

’Five Warbringers are dead.’
