After hanging up the phone, Qiao Sang stared at her phone thoughtfully.
Billet must be in some trouble, but judging by the situation, it shouldn’t be anything too dangerous...
At this moment, Aqiel hung up his call and walked over, smiling as he said, "Get ready, the flight has been rescheduled."
...
Outside the dense forest, in the clearing.
Billet put down his phone, and uncontrollable tears streamed down his face like a flood.
He hadn’t expected the opponent to use such underhanded tactics, making their Pet Beast unleash Tear Powder just to muddle his commands.
Such sheer cunning!
Thankfully, Qiao Sang had already left. Otherwise, if she’d seen him like this, what dignity would he have left as a teacher?
Suddenly, rustling noises came from nearby.
Billet’s eyes instantly sharpened, and with a sobbing tone, he turned and said, "Who’s there?"
"Duoxi."
From amid the weeds, a Duoxi Duola popped its head out.
"Oh, it’s you..." Billet said, still crying.
He recognized it as the same creature that had provided Qiao Sang with the lead on Adinixi.
"Duoxi..."
Duoxi Duola glanced to the side before cautiously walking over and stopping next to Billet.
"I don’t have any food on me right now," Billet said, seeing its behavior and thinking it had come looking for food.
"Duoxi?"
Duoxi Duola looked at the tears still streaming down his face, with a puzzled expression.
"Are you asking why I’m crying?" Billet guessed while still crying.
"Duoxi."
Duoxi Duola nodded.
"Because I got hit by Tear Powder," Billet explained.
Upon hearing this, Duoxi Duola suddenly turned around and darted back into the forest.
Billet didn’t mind, continuing to let his tears flow.
He planned to leave once the effects of the Tear Powder had worn off.
About ten minutes later, rustling sounds came from the direction of the forest, as if something was running toward him.
Billet, eyes still teary but keen, turned toward the noise.
To his surprise, it was the same Duoxi Duola, now returning with a green plant in its claws.
It didn’t leave this time but instead looked at Billet with expectant eyes.
Billet, no longer crying, was in high spirits and laughed, saying:
"I really don’t have any food on me."
"Duoxi..."
Duoxi Duola, hearing this, couldn’t help but look disappointed.
"But I do have one thing that you might be interested in," Billet continued.
Saying this, he pulled a yellow-brown crystal out of his pocket.
The Earth Stone, a vital item for Ground Type Pet Beasts to evolve. He remembered that Duoxi Duola’s evolution requirement involved using an Earth Stone.
For ordinary Beast Tamers, an Earth Stone might be incredibly valuable, but the one in Billet’s possession was of medium grade—neither exceptionally rare nor particularly useful to him.
The only reason he carried it around was because one of his Ground Type Pet Beasts liked to snack on Earth Stones, so he often kept some on hand.
"Duoxi..."
Duoxi Duola accepted the Earth Stone, looking a bit confused, unsure of what it was for.
"Place it against your forehead and channel your Energy," Billet instructed.
If a Pet Beast’s internal Energy was full and had met the requirements for evolution, the Evolution Stone would light up upon contact.
But Duoxi Duola’s stone did not light up, indicating that its Energy levels hadn’t yet reached the required threshold for evolution.
There were two possibilities: either it was far from ready, in which case the Evolution Stone would have no effect...
