Chapter 101
McKayla was talking and started setting it up for Stephanie.
Stephanic looked at McKayla acting all cager and sighed helplessly in
her heart.
She could have blamed anyone for her miscarriage, but she never blamed McKayla. If McKayla hadn’t arranged for someone to get blood in advance that day, she might have died from losing too much blood. But McKayla still felt guilty.
She tried a lot of ways but none of them worked.
So I just let McKayla do her thing, hoping it would make McKayla feel a bit better.
“You’re really too skinny now, it makes people feel bad for you, you need to eat more and get your weight back up,” McKayla said, looking at Stephanie with concern.
Stephanie nodded and smiled, then took a taste.
It was delicious.
“So Kayla, where exactly did you and your brother buy these for me?” Stephanie had been wondering for a long time. “Last time I asked Patrick, he didn’t say either. I don’t know if he forgot or what.”
McKayla smiled at her and said, “Is it good?”
Stephanie nodded and didn’t hold back her praise: “Kayla, we grew up together and went to a lot of highly rated restaurants, but the food you and your brother brought me these times was super tasty. Those
restaurants couldn’t even compare.”
“Hehe, as long as it tastes good.” McKayla said slyly, but she didn’t explain further.
Stephanie squinted at McKayla and reached out to poke McKayla’s forehead.
“There’s something fishy,” Stephanie said. “You guys didn’t buy this from outside, right? Tell me the truth, did your family get a new chef? Is this the chef’s specialty dish?”
McKayla covered her forehead and glared at Stephanie. She pouted and mumbled, “Kind of, anyway, if you want to eat, I’ll just tell him to make it.”
“Okay.” Stephanie didn’t look into it any further.
The two people talked for a long time.
Stephanie looked at McKayla, who was still acting all shy, and let out a long sigh.
After thinking for a moment, Stephanie said, “Kayla, can I ask you to do me a favor?”
McKayla nodded right away: “Go ahead.”
The second live of The Ethereal Voice‘ was in a few days.” Stephanie. looked at McKayla and said, “Got time to come watch me perform?”
“Of course I was free.” McKayla nodded right away. Even if she wasn’t, she would swap shifts with someone to make time. She said, “I really wanted to be there in person!”
“What kind of favor is this!” McKayla complained.
26.64%
Stephanie reached out and poked McKayla’s check.
“Of course I asked for help.” Stephanie said with a smile “Other people didn’t know I was Stephanie, you know, it was a different feeling, a really different meaning.”
“Also.” Stephanie went on. “I still needed your help with the sound and picture quality before.”
Stephanie looked at how eager McKayla was, and she knew she had to plant a mind anchor in her
She didn’t want her best friend to keep feeling guilty and always be so careful.
They were equal.
No one let anyone down.
So, let’s just take the livestream’s sound and picture quality as that anchor point.
McKayla took care of it, so maybe the guilt in her heart would go away, and they could be like before again.
Besides. McKayla already got Alaina’s phone, so as long as she found a data recovery expert, everything would be easy
“If you got more involved, maybe that thing would be solved?” Stephanie said with a smile.
“You’re right!” McKayla nodded hard and looked really motivated.
So, Stephanie felt a bit more at ease.
Just had Jeremiah get a spot for McKayla to watch on site.
