Chapter 115
But Maxwell held her hand.
“Stephanie.” He called her name again.
“I told you, no one could take your place” Maxwell said. “Roxanne only had half a year left. After half a year, we could still be fine ”
“You didn’t need to make a fuss, after half a year, everything would go back to where it was.
His voice came from behind.
It made Stephanie want to laugh.
Her attitude was already so obvious, and he still thought she was just messing around?
Why did she mess around?
For him as a person, for Mrs. Humphrey’s position?
She was never Mrs. Humphrey, she was Ms. Shelton. Stephanie.
She stayed with him before just because of love.
And now, she was Stephanie again, also because of love.
It’s just that back then I loved Maxwell, and now I love myself.
She already gave him a chance.
She checked again and again, but from him, she got one heartbreaking answer after another.
Chapter115
She’d been hurt too much in her life, and she didn’t want to be sad
anymore.
The boy who once held half a piece of wood in front of her to protect her might have already died on that rainy night.
Now all she had in front of her was a Maxwell whose heart was only for Roxanne.
She didn’t want a Maxwell who looked so different.
“Let go!” she said.
But his big hand holding her wrist just didn’t let go.
“Stephanie.” Maxwell’s voice came from behind. “What did you really want?”
Wanted to get his father’s old subordinates, wanted to find out the truth about his father’s death back then, wanted his own career to keep rising. wanted the people around her who really deserved love to have a good life, wanted to shake him off and live well!
These words almost slipped out.
But in the end, she still held back.
They were still in the cooling–off period, she wanted the divorce to go smoothly, and she couldn’t say much else for now.
So, after all that, I just said one thing: “Maxwell, my business has nothing to do with you.”
That sentence of hers totally pissed him off.
The night wind blew by and brought the unfamiliar scent of her perfume.

Just like how she was right now, she felt kind of unfamiliar to him.
“None of my business?” He chewed on her words. “Stephanie, you’re still my wife. You think all this has nothing to do with me?”
Stephanie sneered, “So you still remembered I was your wife.”
“Let go!” Stephanie said, trying to yank her hand free from Maxwell’s grip.
The argument between the two got louder and louder.
Finally, it was an old voice that stopped them.
“That’s enough!”
Leonard was supposed to be waiting for them in the villa, but now he was being pushed out.
His face didn’t look good.
“Maxwell, what are you doing!” Leonard snapped.
Maxwell’s lips were pressed together, and his cold eyes were fixed on Stephanie.
“Maxwell!” Leonard’s scolding voice came again.
Maxwell finally looked away, and he lowered his eyes a little.
“Grandpa.” he called, but he still wouldn’t let go of Stephanie’s hand.
Leonard gave Maxwell a hard glare.
And Jennifer already walked over, held Stephanie’s hand, and said with concern, “Good girl, you’ve lost so much weight.”
“It was this bastard’s fault!” Leonard grabbed his cane and was about to

hit Maxwell.
Maxwell didn’t dodge either, just stood right here.
The breeze came from the lake, and it felt a little cold.
Stephanie shrank back instinctively.
