“Hello?” Stephanie’s voice came through.

The man smiled, looked at Maxwell’s bad expression, and said, “Hello, Steph, it’s me. Have you been well lately?”

Stephanie on the other end of the phone didn’t say anything.

Maxwell walked straight ahead and tried to grab the gun. The next moment, the other guy didn’t hold back anymore, pulled out the gun, and pointed it at Maxwell’s head.

The man smiled and looked at Maxwell, saying, “I knew you would…”
