Chapter42
Stephanie put down her phone and focused on getting ready for the first live show of “The Ethereal Voice.”
Stephanie didn’t tell Jeremiah she was playing it safe.
This statement at least meant:
was.
It was best if they could get divorced smoothly after the 30–day cooling–off period.
If they didn’t get divorced, Stephanie was ready to file for divorce.
She had to leave Maxwell!

The other side.
At the Humphrey Building, CEO’s Office was knocked on.
Maxwell looked up and saw Edgar Walsh.
“What is it?”

Edgar walked over and handed the tablet to Maxwell.
Edgar said, “Mr. Humphrey, Mrs. Humphrey made a statement with her own account.”
He knew it was her account, and he frowned a little.
After they got married, he had already talked it over with Stephanie. She needed to check with him before posting anything on her account, because she wasn’t just Stephanie anymore, she was also Mrs. Humphrey. But now…
Maxwell looked at his phone. She still hadn’t messaged him.
So, this was her own idea.
Maxwell reached out and took the tablet, saw the statement on it.
He clicked on the comments below and saw those nasty ones.
Stuff on the internet was handled by the company’s PR department, so he usually didn’t really look at it. This was actually the first time he really saw what people online were saying.
My first reaction was, it really was her who posted this, which meant she was okay after falling down the stairs.
Second reaction, she really was making a scene.
Didn’t message him, just told him through this account, emphasized that they weren’t divorced yet.
She knew very well that as long as she posted something with this account, he would definitely find out.
“Mr. Humphrey, do you want to get in touch with Mrs. Humphrey for some PR?” Edgar asked from the side.

Maxwell put the tablet on the table.
“Don’t worry about it.”
Edgar put away his tablet and nodded, saying, “So, about Ms. Gregg…”
Maxwell tapped the table lightly with his left hand: “I’ll handle it.”
He paused for a moment and glanced at Edgar. “What was Adan doing now?”
Edgar froze for a second, then realized what was going on. He lowered his voice without thinking, “He went back to his hometown. With your order, Mr. Humphrey, he didn’t dare come back to Haraville.”
Edgar looked at Maxwell again and went on, “With your orders, Mr. Humphrey, he wouldn’t have it easy anywhere.”
Maxwell said “Mm.”
Edgar went out with the tablet, and Maxwell looked up thoughtfully at the view outside the big floor–to–ceiling window.
Even on the top floor of the Humphrey Building, he could still feel the wind howling outside.
The wind in Haraville was still really strong.
This huge wind that swept across half the country still hadn’t stopped.
This city was still running at full speed, and everyone had their own path.
Even on windy days, it was still noisy with people in every building.
The flowers that had just bloomed in April were blown down and swept up again by the strong wind. The petals flying all over the sky
