“Look again!” Leonard snapped.

Maxwell looked away and said helplessly, “Grandpa.”

Seeing Leonard ignored him, he turned to Jennifer Humphrey for help.

“Grandma…”

“Don’t call me. I’m mad too.”

Jennifer gently soothed Leonard while saying, “I’ve been with your grandpa for so many years, and he never let any other woman bully me I thought you, as the kid we raised since you were little, would also treat Steph well. Now it looks like I was wrong.”

Maxwell held his arm where Leonard had hit him, lips pressed together.

He said, “Did Stephanie complain to you guys?”

Leonard was more irritable and would just hit with his cane.

Jennifer quickly held onto Leonard.

Leonard wasn’t in good health to begin with. After taking a couple of puffs, he turned pale and almost fainted.

“Grandpa.” Maxwell reached out to help, but Jennifer pushed him

away.

Jennifer waved Edgar over while saying, with her back to Maxwell:

“Maxwell, your mom and dad weren’t around when you were little, and the two of us old folks didn’t know how to raise a kid. The way you turned out now, that’s our fault.”

Jennifer’s tone was really calm, but what she said was totally cutting.

Maxwell suddenly started to panic.

Jennifer didn’t look back at him, she just told Edgar to help Leonard into the wheelchair and push Leonard toward the elevator.

Maxwell I wanted to step forward agai. out Jennifer said:

“If you wanted to piss your grandpa off to death, just go ahead and follow.”

“Don’t come see us unless you bring Steph back,” Jennifer said before getting into the elevator.

A whole floor, all the employees, not a single person dared to speak.

They all seemed like they were deaf and mute.

The whole floor was quiet as a mouse, only the livestream on the screen made any noise.
