Freya's mouth twitched. Unbothered to explain further, she said perfunctorily, "Yes. Unlike you, I have no shame. Having said that, this is my business. You have no right to teach me a lesson."
"Why don't I have the right to do so? We have a daughter together. Your behavior will affect my daughter. Since you’ve decided to raise her, you must set a good example for her. Dani will get married in the future. If your reputation is bad, you’ll hold her back.”
Rodney behaved like a porcupine. He did not mean to say things like this when he came. However, after he saw her, quills naturally grew on his back.
Freya twitched her lips. "You were wicked and unfaithful in your marriage. I really have no idea how you can bring yourself to be so shameless and criticize me. I can never be as shameless as you, so it's up to you to say whatever you want."
Perhaps Freya had seen Rodney behave shamelessly countless times, so she had slowly adapted to it. She was not even mad at him, nor was she bothered to argue with him.
It was pointless. It was just a waste of her saliva.
Suddenly, she did not even have the mood to talk to Rodney anymore. She turned around, wanting to walk away.
Rodney gripped her wrist and pulled her toward himself.
"What are you doing?" Shocked, Freya exerted some pressure to withdraw her hand.
While she was struggling, Rodney looked down and caught sight of the chestnut brown nail polish on her nails. The nail polish made her fair fingers look shiny and bright. He felt the bright color piercing through his heart and gripping it.
She had never worn any nail polish back then. Only today did he know that a woman with nail polish on her nails would look so stunning.
However, he could no longer get to hold such a hand.
"I don't know what you're saying." A moment later, she regained her composure and said nonchalantly.
Rodney tightened his fist. He had clearly seen the look in her eyes just now, though it was momentary. "At this point, you're still planning to hide the truth for Eliza, huh? How long have both of you known each other? Yet you're siding with her and covering up her cruel act. Freya, you're aiding and abetting her. You’re obstructing the course of justice.”

Freya chose not to answer his question.
A surge of rage rushed up within Rodney. He violently grabbed hold of her shoulders and thundered in spite o f himself, yelling, "Freya, is Eliza more important than our marriage and family? If you hadn't sided with Eliza, we wouldn’t have divorced and Dani wouldn't have lost her dad. You think you're helping Eliza, but you're wrong. You’re harming her. That's not the way you should help your friend. You're too selfish. Have you ever thought about the victim’s pain?"
Freya’s shoulders hurt from his grip. She struggled hard, but she could not seem to get rid of him. Unable t o bear with him anymore, she clasped his wrist and twisted it. Only then did she manage to shake his hand off.
