“What’s with your attitude?” Hunter said harshly. “Your mom isn’t well, yet you haven’t come to visit her after your return. She talks about you every day.”
“Doesn’t she have Cindy as a daughter? Why does she still think of me?” Chester said sarcastically.
“That was because you weren’t by our sides. We were lonely, and only Cindy often came to spend time with her. Cindy fulfilled all the responsibilities that you did not. Speaking of which, Cindy is really a nice girl.”
Chester was speechless.
If it were not for him having some similarities to Hunter and his wife in terms of looks, he would suspect that they were not his biological parents.
He did not know how their brains developed either.
Did their brains shrink due to old age?
“Ha. Would Cindy treat you guys well if not for the money I gave you?” Chester snorted. “I heard you two gave Cindy a lot of money to start her company. It would be best if you took it easy. Don’t come to me asking for money once you run out of it.”
“You ungrateful thing. What are you talking about–”
Chester hung up before Hunter could finish his sentence.
“Unfilial thing. B*stard.”
On the other hand, Hunter almost smashed his phone.
“Don’t be angry. The doctor said your blood pressure went up. Don’t let anger harm your body.” Madam Jewell soothed her husband. “Is Chester really not coming back to see us? Where’s he staying? He isn’t at the villa either.”
“I don’t know.” Hunter frowned. “However, Tim said he saw Ken in the furniture store a few days ago, so Chester must’ve returned as well. Ken has always been with him.”
“Hunter knows I’m back. No information was leaked on my side. Was it exposed by your side?”
Ken was stunned. Then, he hit his head. “I think I saw Tim when I went to the furniture store a few days ago. Tim once worked under you, but he followed your father after you got into the accident.”
“No wonder.”
Chester frowned. “Be careful whenever you head out in the future and don’t let Hunter’s people discover this place. I don’t want to disturb Eliza and her family’s peace.”
“Okay.”
“Also, look into Cindy’s current information and assets,” Chester instructed. “Although I hate Hunter, I was the one who painstakingly earned the money they have. I can’t let Cindy swindle all that money.”
