Kelly’s POV

“Thanks for the dinner again, Mr. Walter.”

He smiled as he closed the car’s door behind. “I should be the one thanking you for this night and just Caleb, please.”

I bit my bottom lip and nodded. “I’m going inside now. Thanks for the ride.”

I waved at him before I turned my back and went inside the condominium tower. I left my car in my company because he picked me up for our dinner. We talked about some random things. He actually offered to help me again but I refused. I already have someone by my side...Emily and I think she’s enough.

“Mommy!” Snow’s energetic voice welcomed me after I entered the unit. I smiled at her as I carried her in my arms. I walked towards the living area and found someone sitting on the couch, collecting Snow’s toys and putting them in the box.

“Pierce?” My forehead creased as I continued walking.

He looked at me and smiled. “I was just waiting for you. Ana has a headache so I told her to sleep early.”

I nodded. “Thanks.”

He stood on his feet and fixed his crumpled long sleeves polo. I saw his coat on the couch when he grabbed it, readying himself to leave.

“I’m sorry. I met someone and already ate outside.”

“It’s okay. I was just really waiting for you and...Ana cooked so we already ate.”

I put Snow down and she ran towards Pierce. She held his hand and looked at me. The smile on my daughter’s face and the happiness in Pierce’s eyes while watching our daughter is making my heart clench. Should I...tell him about her now? But...

“Will you come back again tomorrow, Pierce?”

Pierce smiled and squatted in front of her. “Just at night, sweetheart. I have work during the day so...”

Snow nodded happily. “It’s okay, I understand. What’s important is you’re visiting me every night.”

I bit my bottom lip when Pierce glanced at me and chuckled before he looked at Snow again. “You want me to visit you everyday?”

“Yes!”

“Uh...Can I get some water before I leave?”

I looked at his face as he faced me. “How about...a coffee before you leave? You seem sleepy and you’re driving so...I think a coffee would be better.”

He smiled and rubbed his eyes. “I guess you’re right.”

Snow nodded and waved at Pierce. “Goodnight, Pierce.”

“Goodnight, sweetheart.”

I couldn’t suppress the smile on my lips because of that although I had to turn my back and press my lips together when Pierce suddenly looked my way. I walked towards the island counter while Pierce sat on the stool, facing me.

I made two cups of coffee. One for him and for me.

“Snow is full of love. You raise her very well.”

I smiled at his comment. “Thank you.”

I jumped in shock and immediately took a step back. I was panicking so much that I bumped my back on the kitchen counter. I saw Pierce panicked too and he accidentally tripped on the stool. He almost lost his balance but he luckily grabbed on the counter on time.

I gasped and looked at Snow at the staircase. She was looking at us innocently, hugging her doll.

I could feel my cheeks burning and I don’t have the courage to look at Pierce even when in the corner of my eyes, I can see him staring at my face while biting his bottom lip.

“You’re still here, Pierce!” Snow said and smiled happily.

I quickly walked towards her and carried her in my arms. “He’s leaving, sweetie. Why...why did you come down?”

“I can’t sleep, mommy. I was waiting for you.”

I looked at Pierce and he understood. He grabbed his car keys on the island counter and walked towards us. I was shocked when he suddenly leaned closer. I immediately turned my head to the side, thinking he’d kiss me in front of Snow but I was wrong.

My whole face burned in embarrassment when he planted a soft kiss on Snow’s forehead and then gently caressed my arm.

I looked at him and he smiled at me. “I’m going.”

“O-Okay.” I cursed myself inside my head after I stammered. Damn it!

“I will message you when I get home. Is that...okay with you?”

I was still dazed. I just found myself nodding at him, completely oblivious to Snow’s innocent stares.

My heart was still beating so fast as I watched Pierce walk towards the door. I chose not to send him out because I couldn’t calm myself anymore after two embarrassing encounters.

I closed my eyes when he was about to kiss me. It was stupid for me to do that after I told him to give me time to think. Shit! I’m still in love with him with no doubt. I’m still into my daughter’s father.
