Kelly’s POV

I was cleaning Pierce’s wound here in Emily’s apartment. I was sitting on the coffee table while Pierce was sitting on the couch. Leaning on the island counter was Emily, watching us with her arms crossed. I feel comfortable because I feel like she’s waiting for me to tell Pierce about my pregnancy.

“Don’t tell me you didn’t even get to land a punch?” Emily said, mocking Pierce.

I looked at her and frowned. “Emily...”

She chuckled. “What? He’s a man but it seems to me that he’s weaker than you.”

I swallowed hard and looked at Pierce. He looked down, looking so ashamed.

Emily is a good friend. She’s become the older sister I never had but there are times that her words are just too insensitive and hurtful.

“Emily, can you give us some privacy?” I said even when it’s her own condo unit. When I looked at her, she just shrugged her shoulders and went to her room.

I looked at Pierce again and sighed. “Sorry about that.”

He won’t look at me, so I lifted his face and continued cleaning his wound.

His lips parted when our gazes met. “Pierce...”

My heart raced. I didn’t wanna make the same mistake before so I want to be honest with him now. I want to tell him about the baby in my womb. Yes! Before I visited my mom, I went to my obgyn and got myself checked. It was positive. I’m pregnant.

He stared intently into my eyes. With love, admiration and so much affection. How could I possibly hurt him now and tell him the truth about Snow’s father when he’s looking at me like that?

“What is it, Kelly?” He asked and caressed my hand.

The warmth of his palm is comforting me and as if telling me that everything will be okay and that I don’t need to worry about anything.

I took a very deep breath and swallowed all my fears before I spilled the truth to him. “Pierce, I’m pregnant.”

I didn’t blink. I stared at his handsome and bruised face, waiting for his reaction.

His lips were parted. He was staring at me without saying anything and my mind is becoming so chaotic now. Slowly, I saw happiness peeping in his eyes.

“R-Really?”

I felt my heart racing. I swallowed hard again and nodded.

He gasped and slowly looked at my stomach. “Oh God!”

He was panting when he suddenly knelt in front of me. I wanted to stop him but my body was unmovable. I can’t even say anything. I was the one who surprised him but why am I the one who’s immobile?

I flinched when he suddenly caressed my stomach. His palm sent thousands of electrifying sensations in my body. He was smiling as he glanced at me and I saw tears at the corner of his eyes.

“Pierce...”

“Thank you...” He whispered as he hugged me carefully. He kissed my hair constantly and I could really feel his love and care. “Thank you! Thank you, baby. I’m so happy right now. I could die!”

[Lucy...found it and I just saw her burning the documents.]

I squeezed my eyes closed. “Oh my God!”

Pierce walked towards me, alarmed. He stared at my face worriedly while I pressed my lips together and palmed my forehead. This is crazy! Why...did she do that? That’s the only way we can find the person who killed her brother.

“A-Are you sure she burned it all, Liam? We need it. We need that to find the person behind your brother’s death. Liam, that’s our only chance.”

I looked at Pierce again and he immediately understood what happened.

[I saw it all, Miss Kelly. She burned everything. She’s so angry. She...hates everyone and she couldn’t accept what happened to Luke.]

I squeezed my eyes closed. Do I have the right to get mad at her and blame her? She lost her brother. Her brother who took care of them and worked so hard to support them. I can’t imagine the pain she’s going through. I lost people I dearly loved too and nothing could explain how painful it was.

[I’m sorry, Miss Kelly. I really want to fulfill my promise to my brother but it’s gone now. I think I have to focus on Lucy now. I don’t wanna lose another sibling.]

I cleared my throat and nodded. “I understand, Liam. I-I had my assistant transferred money to your bank account. Use it to start over. I promise I will never stop seeking justice for your brother.”

[Thank you, Miss Kelly. I will find Lucy and convince her to leave so we can start over again. I-It would be hard for us but I’ll do my best to take care of her.]

“Goodbye, Liam. Take care of your sister.”

After I ended the call, I looked at Terrence and shook my head. “I’m back to zero.”
