Betrayed by Husband Divorced when Pregnant (Kelly and Pierce) novel Chapter 156

Chapter 156: Chapter 156 A Trap

Kelly’s POV

I was rubbing my eyes while walking towards the kitchen when the door swung open and Emily entered the unit.

My lips parted after I saw her looks. Her hair was messy and she’s wearing a man’s dress shirt. Obviously, underneath her was only panties.

“What happened to you?” I asked worriedly.

She smirked. “Matt Foster happened.”

My eyes widened in shock. “What?”

She sat on the stool and asked for water. I gave her one glass and she took a deep sigh after that.

I was just staring at her and that’s when I realized what she meant. From the looks of it, proven by the large dress shirt she’s wearing, she shared a night with Matt.

“Emily...”

She smirked. “Don’t worry about me, Kelly. I liked it.”

My eyes squinted but I did not say anything. I was waiting for Emily to say things and I’m glad when she did.

“He looked problematic last night, Kelly. I’m guessing he found out something.”

I slowly nodded. “Do you think he’ll side with us?”

“If he’s a righteous man, he will. But there’s a big possibility that he’ll choose his family, so we can’t really tell.”

“Still, I’m thankful that you’re helping me. You’ve been a great help, Emily. I don’t know what would have happened to me if I didn’t meet you.”

She just smiled. After our short talk, she went to her room to sleep while I tried to find a lawyer who could help me once I gathered all the evidence I needed.

I visited Snow in Pierce’s house before going to work. I saw my daughter talking happily to her grandparents. Mr. Anderson seemed to grow fond of her. They were talking about going to the beach this weekend.

“Grandpa, can mommy come?”

Mr. Anderson chuckled. “Of course, darling. Your momma will really come with us. I hope you can convince her to come.”

I was in awe watching Mr. Anderson. Snow can make him laugh without even trying.

I was standing by the door when I saw Pierce walking down the stairs. He’s wearing white dress shirt and slacks. He’s about to go to work too when he spotted me at the entrance.

“Kelly...”

Everyone was informed of my arrival because of Pierce.

I immediately flashed a sweet smile as Mrs. Anderson looked at me with gentle eyes. Mr. Anderson’s expression turned serious but he nodded, welcoming me.

“Mommy!” Snow ran towards me. I squatted and leveled her eyes. I kissed her cheeks and hugged her.

“Hello, pumpkin. How are you?”

She smirked happily. “I’m happy here, mommy. Why don’t you just stay here? I asked daddy Pierce if you can sleep in my room and he agreed.”

I smiled and glanced at Pierce who’s standing a few meters away from us. I suddenly felt uncomfortable after seeing the way he stared at us.

Snow suddenly cupped my cheeks, making me look at her. “Mommy, you have to answer me. Daddy said you can stay here. I love it here, mommy. They have a pool and a wide backyard. I can play here all day too.”

I bit my bottom lip and shook my head. “I’m sorry, sweetheart. Mommy can’t stay here.”

Snow smiled. “Okay, mommy. Take care. I will stay here with grandma and grandpa.”

I nodded and glanced at Pierce. He immediately got what I wanted. He bent down a little and I tiptoed to kiss Snow’s cheek but I was shocked when my daughter moved away and my lips landed on Pierce’s lips.

My heart almost stopped beating as I heard Mrs. Anderson gasped behind me.

“I-I’m...I’m sorry,” I whispered and looked at Snow. She’s giggling and obviously, she did it on purpose.

“Pumpkin!”

She smirked. “Grandma and grandpa love each other. If you love each other, why don’t you get married too like grandma and grandpa?”

My cheeks heated as I glanced at Pierce. He’s suppressing his smile so I frowned at him. And obviously, he’s enjoying it too. Indeed, they’re father and daughter.

“Did you bring your car? I’ll send you to your company if not,” Pierce said, still hiding his smile.

I scoffed. “I brought my car.”

He nodded. “Okay. Let’s just convoy.”

My eyes landed at Snow and I realized she’s enjoying seeing me and Pierce talking like this. My daughter is trying to set me up with Pierce without knowing that he’s her father and I love him.

Mrs. Anderson suddenly interfered. “Uh, Pierce, son, your car is broken. It won’t start.”

Pierce looked at his mom and his forehead creased. “What? How?”

“I don’t know.” Mrs. Anderson smiled. “And the other cars are broken too. My car overheats. The great stick of your dad’s car won’t work.”

I bit my bottom lip. Now, that’s really strange. I smell something fishy. They’re pairing us up. Coming here is a trap, huh?
