Chapter 7
When I got home, took a nice, hot bath.
Looking at this small but cory house, I felt a sense of peace.
After doing my makeup. I found a blue dress I hadn’t worn in nget.
The afternoon, I was meeting someone important.
“Than, have I kept you waiting long?”
In the law office, I smiled at the man sitting at the desk flipping through some files,
His name is than my neighbor and childhood friend,
After I got married, Nathaniel insisted that a woman should settle down and not interact with men
Especially not with Ethan, my childhood friend.
This caused many fights between Nathaniel and me.
To keep the peace, and because I was nave, 1 stopped contacting than after marriage.
It wasn’t until I decided to divorce and was looking for a lawyer that I found out Ethan had become a well known attorney in the city.
“You’re here? Have a seat.”
Ethan put down the files and polled a prepared divorce agreement from his drawer.
“This is the draft for the divorce agreement.”
“Take a look and see if anything needs changing ”
Maybe because it had been a long time since we last spoke, Ethan was cold when I greeted him.
I hit my lip, feeling guilty as I took the papers from him
Honestly, I wasn’t planning to go to Ethan at first.”
“His lawyer fees were too expensive, and I had just opened a flower shop.
But one day, when I was downstars consulting, than suddenly walked in, putted me into his office, and without a word, sat me down
“So, you’re getting a divorce? Have you found a lawyer?”
as the one.
I nodded, indicating that the lawyer I had spoken to earlier was
Ethan’s face immediately darkened.
“Are you really planning to take on Nathaniel wh that newbie lawyer?”
“Vivianne, have you lost your mind after being Nathaniel’s wife all these years?”
“If divorce cases were that easy, everyone could be a lawyer.”
Tawkwardly smiled, lowering my head, pretending I didn’t know what to say
than glared at five in frustration, told me to go home, and said he’d contact no later.
Later that night, I received his call.
“Wanne, I’m taking your case. Come in the office too.”
I was half awake, veoken by the phone, and post mumbled an acknowledgment.
After I came to my senses, I put the divorce papershark on the desk,
than frowned, looking at me with a scul
“That’s it? You’re just going to glance through it?”
“Divorce isn’t something to take lightly.”
I smiled slightly, trying to lighten the moot.
“Well, I have you handling it, so I trust you.
Ethan’s face softened, and he put the papers away.
“I’ll pick you up tomorrow at noon. What do you want to eat?”
I was taken aback, then instinctively said,
“Let’s just eat at home. Outside food isn’t very clean.”
