Chapter 50
Asher’s POW
Blooked into the minor as ivy adjusted my tie, her fingers brushing against my collar. She had this focused, gentle touch, and her lips were puede serious pout, I could barely look at her her perfume filled the air between us, making it hard to think
“You know,” she said, giving my tie a final pat, “you actually clean up really well.” She smiled at me, and I felt that familiar warmth building in my chest.
“If dressing up like this is what it takes to get a compliment from you, I’ll do it every single day I declared.
She stifled a blush. It doesn’t have to take so much, her voice was barely above a whisper
A smirk bagged at my lips. Was hy flirting with me? Was it just the magic of the night, or were her defenses slowly stripping away? ressed her check and stared as she leaned into my touch, her eyelids fluttering shut. A small gasp escaped her lips.
I slipped my hand around her waist. “You’re going to make it hard for me to let go of you, Ivy…“I glanced at the large bed behind us, it looked comfy and inviting I wanted to hunt her over my shoulder and take her to bed, but I couldn’t
It was like there was always something holding us back, internal or external. Right now, it was the event waiting for us outside these doors, fashion event with all of Ivy’s team and other industry giants. An event she would have missed if I hadn’t offered to follow her
She had informed me about Taylor coming onto her project the moment she got him. It was hard to shake off the feeling of guilt I felt when she told me. couldn’t bring myself to tell her about that night or confront Taylor about it.
So, when I learned she was planning to pass up the invitation for this event, it took a lot from me to offer to accompany her. Especially knowing there was a probability that we would run into Taylor.
“Are you okay?” she asked tenderly, pulling me out of my musings.
I nodded and smoothed my tuxedo. None of that mattered, not when I was staring into those beautiful blue eyes.
She flashed me a beautiful smile. “I think you’ll do fine.” She grabbed my hands. “Fashion shows are like every formal gala you hold at Sterling, only they’re more fun, and you’ve got to look extra stylish…
I stared at her. She looked exquisitely beautiful in her silver, shimmery dress and the black fur jacket over her delicate shoulders. Her blonde hair had been pulled back, accentuating her perfect features.
I brought her hand to my lips and kissed it softly. “I think you look ravishing tonight, but as much as key crumpled in a pile on the floor…
Her cheeks heated, and she looked away.
your dress on you, I think I’d like it better
“But seriously, I’m thankful that you’re here,” I sighed. “And now I feel terrible that on our first event, I left you all alone. I deeply regret that now.” I kissed her hands again. It was all I could do to stop myself from capturing her lips in a frenzied kiss. I knew if I started, I wouldn’t stop. “If I could turn back the hands of time, I’d be in that room with you, watching them fawn over you, unable to tell the difference because you still look so beautiful either way…….”
Her eyes met mine in the minor, and her cheeks turned red. “You’re sweet. But don’t think you’re off the hook. Next time, I’m going to pay you back,” she leased.
I laughed. “Fair enough. I don’t make any promises that I’ll make it easy for you to avoid me.”
She turned to look at me, her tongue darting agloss her lips. My gaze instantly darkened, evidence of my desire for her. My grip around her waist tightened. She let out a soft gasp, and it felt like torture.
To be in the same space with the woman desired and be unable to do anything. Every little gasp that skipped from her lips, the soft moans at the back
of her throat.

When she licked her lips and looked at me with those beautiful blue eyes, looking an innocent as ever, all I could think of were all the naughty wanted to do to her, it was getting really hard to hold back, to wait for her to come to me, I couldn’t take it anymore.
leaned closer and kissed her earlobe, lightly suckling the sensitive skin there. A mon escaped her lips, her eyes softmed, and for a second, I was sure she was feeling it too that tug of something more.
“Don’t hold back on me, hy…I whispered.
The party was a whirl of music, flashing lights, and people dressed to the nines. I could feel myself sipping into that usual rhythm–minding sitog n felt natural. For some reason, I truly enjoyed it. Maybe it was because I had the prettiest woman by my side. She made everything so why. She was like a splash of color on a black and white painting
I beamed with a smile and watched in pride as she moved into the crowd. We were getting a lot of attention, cameras flashing repeatedly in our faces. She handled it like a boss, smiling when it was needed, hitting a couple of poses in minutes. I knew many of the pictures would feature me gawking at her, but I didn’t mind it. I wanted everyone to know we were made for each other.
I had held her hand as we navigated through the sea of guests, trying to familiarize myself with everyone, but it was hard for me to keep track of the conversations and people, especially when I was captivated by her at every turn. So I had pulled away and opted to watch her from the crowd. That way, I could give her my undivided attention,
I was drinking champagne, my eyes fixated on her, admiration in my gaze. And then I looked away for a moment.
That’s when I saw Taylor. She moved through the crowd easily, like she belonged–which she did. Models were clustered around her laughing and she was right in the middle, poised and in control.
When her eyes met mine, she smiled and made her way over. She was wearing a long red leather dress with high thigh slits. Her hair was tied back, just Eko Ivy’s.
“Hey, stranger,” she said, a playful glint in her eye. “Didn’t think I’d see you here tonight”
I could feel my guard going up instantly. “hy is here,” I answered simply, I stole glances at her, watching her for any clues. Anything that would tell me she knew something
pe she’s fine with the two of us together?” she asked. “There’s a crowd hem. The last thing she wants is to spiral out of control…

I didn’t miss the mockery in her tone. “Oh, she couldn’t be bothered. She’s my wife, she knows that. I have eyes only for her.”
She tilted her head, her eyes scanning my face. “Did you tell her we met at the club the other night?”
The question was casual, but my stomach dropped. I felt a flicker of panic. Any reference to that night had me on edge. “Uh, no…I didn’t think it was worth mentioning.” My voice sounded weaker than lintended, and I could see her taking note of it.
