Chapter 307
Chapter 307
“They killed my mother, I will make sure they all get what’s coming to them!” Hayden said, slamming his glass down after finishing his drink, emphasizing his determination for revenge.
Caitlin and Sebastian exchanged a glance, finally understanding. It was clear that The Yuncey Family was behind the death of Taylor, and Hayden was seeking revenge for his mother.
Hayden took a deep breath and continued, “Now, The Yuncey Family is under the control of the main family, and they plan to hold a Fragrance Garments launch event early next month. I want you to show up and sabotage the event.”
Sebastian raised an eyebrow, “Sabotaging an event is easy. With your power as The Fixer, you could do that easily. Why does Caitlin need to be involved?”
“I have my reasons for involving Caitlin,” Hayden said, looking at him seriously. “The only ones who can break The Yuncey Family’s rules are those with their bloodline. Caitlin’s grandmother, Eleanor, was the heir of Yun’s Fragrance & Dye Studio, and now that both your grandmother and mother are gone, Caitlin should be the one to inherit it. If she takes the lead, it would be legitimate.”
Caitlin now understood the core of Hayden’s proposal. Hayden’s mother, Taylor, had never been accepted by The Yuncey Family, so for Hayden, the real pain was being treated as an outsider. He wanted Caitlin to act in her rightful position to give him the leverage he lacked.
Hayden continued earnestly, “Caitlin, if you help me, I’ll make sure you get the second part of the Yun’s Aromatic Codex.”
Sebastian and Caitlin exchanged glances. Sebastian was against Caitlin involving herself with Hayden, feeling that this collaboration wasn’t ideal. After all, Hayden wasn’t someone Caitlin could fully trust.
Caitlin, however, thought it might be worth taking this step, considering it an opportunity to test the waters.
After some careful consideration, Caitlin finally agreed, “Okay, I agree to work with you.”
“Thank you!” Hayden smiled, extending his hand to Caitlin. However, Sebastian quickly intervened, shaking Hayden’s hand instead. “That’s enough, I’ll represent her,” he said firmly.
Hayden raised an eyebrow, finding Sebastian’s protectiveness amusing. “I’ve never met a man who’s more protective of his wife.”
After their conversation ended, Caitlin and Sebastian left B&B Club together.
Sebastian unlocked the car and opened the passenger door for Caitlin, but just as they were about to get in, a black car suddenly started, and a gun barrel appeared from the window, aiming at Caitlin’s back.
“Caitlin, watch out!” a familiar voice shouted, and Caitlin turned in surprise.
Sebastian instantly sensed the danger. Seeing the gun, he instinctively pulled Caitlin into his arms hielding her.
“Bang!”
A shot rang out, but a figure rushed forward and took the bullet.
“Ugh…”
Teresa fell to the ground as Sienna fired back at the fleeing car. “Bang, bang, bang…” She shot several times, but the car managed
to escape.

Chapter 307
“Little sister…” Sienna rushed over to Teresa, supporting her.
Sebastian released Caitlin, and Caitlin noticed Teresa lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. “It’s Teresa! She’s been sholl Call an ambulance!” she shouted.
Sebastian quickly dia
for help, while Caitlin knelt beside Teresa. “Teresa… Teresa…”
Teresa barely opened her eyes and reached out her hand. “Caitlin… are you alright?”
Caitlin took her hand, “I’m fine! Don’t talk, the ambulance is on the way!”
Sienna was visibly shaken, “Caitlin, that was so dangerous! Thankfully, Teresa rushed out in time, or the consequences would’ve been unimaginable.”
“Who could have been behind this attack?” Caitlin wondered aloud.
She thought about how, if it hadn’t been for Teresa’s quick reaction, it could have been Sebastian who got shot.
Sebastian had already informed their team and called the police. Hayden, hearing the gunshots, came outside and noticed they hadn’t left. He approached to check on them.
“We were ambushed,” Sebastian explained.
“Who did this? Was it aimed at you or Caitlin?”
“It seems to be aimed at Caitlin,” Sebastian said.
Hayden looked concerned, “Are you alright, Caitlin?”
“I’m fine, but my sister’s been injured,” Caitlin replied.
“Who would dare to attack in broad daylight in such a busy area?” Hayden casually remarked, but Caitlin felt something wasn’t right. Normally, someone wouldn’t take such a risky shot in the middle of the day.
Fifteen minutes later, ambulances and the police arrived at the scene. Tyler led a team to assist with the investigation while the ambulance took Teresa to the hospital. Sienna accompanied her.
Caitlin and Hayden said their goodbyes, then got into Sebastian’s car and headed to the hospital.
On the way, Caitlin seemed lost in thought. Sebastian noticed and asked, “What’s on your mind?”
“I’m wondering who was behind that attack on us,” Caitlin said,
“I better not find out who it was, or they won’t get away with it,” Sebastian said, gripping the steering wheel tightly, his words full of intent.
“Something doesn’t sit right with me. If they wanted to attack us, why would they shoot just once and then leave? Were they really that confident one shot would kill us?” Caitlin mused.
“Overconfidence,” Sebastian muttered, clearly troubled.
“And don’t you think it’s a bit too coincidental that Sienna and Teresa showed up just in time?” Caitlin turned to ask Sebastian.
