Chapter 313
Chapter 313
Suddenly hearing Caitlin’s question, Teresa instinctively tried to pull her hand back, but Caitlin grabbed her palm, clearly seeing the marks.
Not only did Teresa freeze, but even Sienna looked a bit flustered.
“What’s going on here? Could it be from when you tried to save me?” Caitlin asked, her voice calm but her gaze piercing.
Sienna leaned in and quickly explained, “No, Caitlin, don’t worry. It’s probably from when my sister was training with resistance bands.”
Teresa’s gaze flickered slightly. “Yeah, it’s from training.”
Caitlin smiled faintly, but her eyes were cold as she continued to analyze, “Training with resistance bands, huh? I’ve trained with them too, but I’ve never had any marks like this. And this looks like a fresh bruise, not something that comes from training. Honestly, are you using some kind of new weapon and not telling me?”
Teresa froze for a moment at Caitlin’s probing, “No….”
Sienna quickly backed up her sister. “No, Caitlin. It really came from training. That’s all.”
Caitlin raised an eyebrow. “But you didn’t get any marks? Aren’t you two usually training together?”
Sienna hesitated, glancing at her own hand in response to Caitlin’s question, her face stiffening with uncertainty.
Both Sienna and Teresa were part of the Shadow Moon Pavilion, and Caitlin had always known that the sisters stuck together. Whether it was missions or training, they were like two halves of a whole. But now, Caitlin’s words caught Sienna off guard.
If they were doing the same thing, why did Sienna’s hand have no marks, while Teresa’s did?
“I wasn’t feeling well for a few days, so I didn’t train with my sister,” Sienna said, offering a weak excuse.
“I see. Well, you should take better care of yourself,” Caitlin said, already suspicious. She then looked toward the window as her phone rang. “Sorry, I need to take this.”
She stood up and walked to the window, answering the call. “Hello? What? You found another undamaged hidden camera at Freya’s place? Great, leave it on my desk at DanCa Estate, I’ll check it tomorrow morning.”
As Caitlin spoke, she turned her back to Sienna and Teresa. The mention of Freya caught their attention, and the two sisters exchanged a quick glance.
When the call ended, Caitlin turned back around. “Alright, Sienna, make sure you take care of Teresa. I have to go check on the kids at The Vanderbilt Family. Teresa, rest up, and I’ll check on you again soon.”
“Alright, Caitlin. Take care!” Sienna said, walking her to the door.
As Caitlin left, Sienna’s smile instantly faded, and a cold glint appeared in her eyes.
The bait had been thrown, now let’s see if the fish will bite!
Sienna turned back toward Teresa’s bed, anxiety evident on her face. “Did you hear that? What do we do now?”
“We can’t let Caitlin find out about that hidden camera!” Teresa’s brow furrowed in
concern.
“I know,” Sienna said, already making up her mind.
With the need to prepare for the next step in their plans, Caitlin and Sebastian had more work to do.
Chapter 313
After dropping off his parents at The Vanderbilt Family, Sebastian took Callin to VEG. It was Caitlin’s first time there, and as they entare? the pre building, they encountered several employees.
The employees noticed the CEO walking in with a beautiful woman and couldn’t help but gossip.
“Wow, Sebastian brought a really pretty woman. Who is she?”
“Is she his new girlfriend?”
While many employees were curious about Caitlin’s identity, some sharp–eyed, gossip–hungry ones quickly recognized her.
“Isn’t that Sebastian’s ex–wife, Caitlin?”
“No way, are they getting back together?”
“Oh my gosh, did you see that? Sebastian was smiling at her, smiling so gently, so charming!”
“I think Sebastian’s in love again. They’re totally going to remarry!”
“Not necessarily! Caitlin’s a strong woman in he
own right, coming from a prestigious family. She probably wouldn’t remarry him.”
“No way! Wanna bet? I bet ten cups of Stars!”
While the employees speculated, Sebastian paid them no mind and continued walking with Caitlin, his attention focused solely on her. He even pressed the elevator button for her and took her bag, giving the impression of a thoughtful, loving husband.
Upon reaching the 59th floor CEO office, they ran into Vincent, who had just finished a meeting.
“Sebastian, Caitlin, what brings you two here together?”
“I just wanted to visit,” Caitlin greeted Vincent.
“Come on in, let’s talk.”
Sebastian led Caitlin into the office, and Vincent followed. “Since Caitlin’s here, let me make you some coffee.”
“You don’t have anything else to do?”
Sebastian glanced at Vincent, feeling a little irritated that he was insisting on staying. He wanted some privacy with Caitlin, but Vincent wasn’t leaving.
“Nope, the meeting’s over, and everything’s set. I have plenty of time. Whatever you two need, I’ll make the coffee.”
