Just like that, Masatsuki Aozaki—who had somehow ended up with another "wife"—was in an excellent mood. Humming to himself, he strolled into the guest bathroom.
He took a long, relaxing bath, had a few cups of sake to help him sleep, and then dove into the warm bed, tightly hugging the soft, fragrant pillow.
"Gotta wake up early to make breakfast tomorrow. Night!"
"...Night my ass!!!"
The "pillow" in his arms—Senjumaru Shutara—screamed in embarrassment, her whole body stiffening up.
Even someone as composed and mature as her couldn’t possibly stay calm in this situation.
It was, after all, her first time lying in bed with a man.
She frantically pushed at Masatsuki Aozaki’s chest, trying to create some distance between them.
"Why did you come into my room, Masatsuki?! And just crawled right into my bed like it was nothing?! Your room is literally next door!"
"But didn’t you say you accepted my confession? That makes us lovers now, right? Silly senpai."
Masatsuki Aozaki blinked innocently, looking at her with a puzzled face, as if he couldn’t understand what he’d done wrong.
Senjumaru Shutara, on the other hand, turned beet red, clutching at her clothes and letting out a helpless, flustered "mmf mmf" sound.
She clearly wanted to say something, but couldn’t bring herself to say it.
"Y-yes... that’s true! But what does that have to do with you sleeping here?! I’m not that kind of woman! Get out of here already!"
While protesting, she kept shoving at him, trying to push him out of the room.
But Masatsuki Aozaki didn’t budge. He just waved her off casually.
"Senjumaru-senpai, you’ve never been in a relationship before, have you?" he suddenly asked.
"T-that’s true... Are you mocking me?!"
Senjumaru Shutara’s blush deepened, and she glared at him in frustration.
"That’s why it makes sense you don’t know," Masatsuki replied with a grin. "For couples, sharing a bed is as normal as eating three meals a day."
"R-really...? That’s normal...?"
Senjumaru Shutara blinked in disbelief.
"Totally! If you don’t believe me, just ask Kirio!" Masatsuki said with full confidence.
"L-like I could ask her something like that!!!"
She nearly jumped in embarrassment. Just the thought of bringing it up with Kirio Hikifune was too mortifying to even consider.
"Senjumaru already accepted my confession, right? Are you saying a reliable senior like you would go back on her word?"
Masatsuki Aozaki remained unfazed, clinging tightly to her, sticking to his belief that lovers should naturally share a bed.
Not that he actually believed it himself—it was just a shameless excuse.
From the start, he had fully intended to snuggle up to Senjumaru Shutara tonight.
After all, they were now inexplicably a couple!
Now that he finally had a legitimate reason to be alone with this bashful older woman, how could he possibly let the chance slip by?
Letting a golden opportunity like this go? He wouldn’t be human.
Meanwhile, the kind and innocent Senjumaru Shutara had no idea.
From the very beginning, her fate had been sealed—destined to be swept up in Masatsuki Aozaki’s nonsense.
And in the end, she would probably blame herself for it all.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she trembled in a mix of shyness and frustration.
"Be good, okay? I’m not going to do anything bad to you, Senpai. We’re just sleeping together, that’s all."
Masatsuki Aozaki’s voice was surprisingly gentle as he softly stroked Senjumaru Shutara’s long hair, like he was calming a frightened animal.
