“What are you talking about? Cyrus cocked his head.
Arthur turned to me with a smile. “Only those with wolf’s blood could have such sharp hearing. The ability you’ve shown indicates to you having a plethora of wolf’s traits”
“So you’re saying it’s undisputed that I have a wolf?” I asked, wanting to confirm my thoughts.
He nodded his head in excitement. “Yes, that is exactly what I mean. These are indicators that you’re on the path to finding your wolf”
But the curse….
For some reason the words didn’t leave my mouth as I expected them to. I turned to see Froste and Cyrus standing there awkwardly.
They probably hadn’t known that I had overhead their conversation back then. I shook my head at their antics.
Froste looked a bit shy, and it was honestly something I found a bit endearing.
And sexy.
“In any case, I believe we have to use this opportunity wisely.” Arthur continued, his gaze still trained on me.
I let out a hum before nodding my head. You’re right about that. My gaze went back to Froste who was still standing shyly.
I’d expected him to have said something to Arthur but so far, he was doing a pretty good job of staying silent.
It was something I had been used to when we were together. Around the time when we started dating, he was always very shy. Even saying the sweetest things to me would get him as red as a tomato.
Yet, things had managed to take the turn that they did. I didn’t like thinking about what had happened and all I’d been forced to endure. I’d had my good times with Froste but it seemed good times were never sure to last.
Arthur suddenly patted me on the back, bringing me out of my thoughts. He had a knowing look in his eyes as he watched me.
“I like this face. I’ll take it home to look at later. Now listen to me carefully.” His face had suddenly gone serious.
I felt my face burn up as I sent him a nod. Arthur turned to his wolf and sent it a nod. Without question, the wolf sauntered farther into his study and came back with something in it’s mouth.
A book.
The wolf handed Arthur the book before moving to curl up at his feet. Arthur opened the book and began flipping through it.
I felt my heart beating fast as he went through the book. I had no idea what it was for or why he’d sent his wolf to bring this.
“What’s it for?” Cyrus asked, seemingly reading my mind.
Arthur held out a hand, indicating for Cyrus to hold on. I was too focused on Arthur to feel Froste come up to my side.
I turned to see him watching me carefully. It was hard to miss the look of concern and yearning in his eyes. I let my gaze linger on him for a while before turning back to Arthur.
I had a goal in mind. I had something to achieve. Froste could try to play whatever part he wanted but I still had a job to do.
“Aha.” Arthur place his hand on a particular page and hurriedly read through it.
“Evelyn’s wolf should have gained more power now. It should have been able to break away from the curse.” He noted.

“Break away?” I asked, “But I don’t understand. The curse was said to be something who’s likes had rarely been seen in the kingdom. Finding a solution was rumoured to be even harder. So how is it going to break away from the curse without me even doing anything?
It sounded like I was panicking and in actuality, that was how I felt. Nothing made sense to me and it was hard trying to wrap my head around most of what Elder Arthur was saying.

He seemed to notice my frustration as he calmly smiled. “It’s meant to be constantly reminding you of its presence.”
