Chapter 116
The moments that passed after then were mostly filled with my brothers doing all they actively could to get to the rart of the
Merhold had contacted the royal police, enlisting their help in pinning down the possible origins of that malicions crystal Anne
It was the only lead we had so far and we had to make good use of it. The rest of my brothers pitched in as best as they could, making re resources of Pack Lune were put into the situation on ground.
One specific night, Arthur snapped his book shut, having drenched himself in papers for hours on end. He’d been pretty determined about finding seeming undiscoverable solution.
“We’re going to take a trip to the border.” Arthur said.
I nodded my head in silence. My mind was racing with all the things we could possibly encounter upon reaching there. I didn’t want to think of the creatures we may face or what laid ahead for me.
All I knew was that I’d made up my mind to come to the end of this. I wasn’t going to stop until I’d reached it.
“Well it’s about time.” Cyrus let out a breath.
The next day came sooner than I’d expected. Rays of sunlight pierced through the clouds as we began preparing for the journey that laid ahead.
I was still discussing with Arthur. The words died in my throat as soon as I laid eyes on the caravan before me.
The luxury caravan gleamed under the sun, a masterpiece of modern design. Its streamlined exterior boasted metallic paint, panoramic windows, and a retractable awning lined with soft LED lighting.
“Let’s go in.” I suggested to Arthur who nodded his head.
Inside, every detail whispered opulence: plush leather seating, hardwood cabinetry, and marble–like countertops.
The kitchen was a chef’s dream, with state–of–the–art appliances tucked seamlessly into the open layout.
A king–sized bed adorned the master suite, while the bathroom featured a rainfall shower and heated floors.
Ambient lighting cast a warm glow over the lounge, where a flat–screen TV and surround sound created a cozy retreat. It wasn’t just a caravan–it was a palace on wheels.
We stepped back outside, my gaze unable to leave the caravan. I turned to Arthur. “I thought we said this would be a stealthy trip.”
Arthur looked helpless. “Cyrus said ‘Our princess had lived a hard life outside for over ten years. They wouldn’t allow her to live a day in poverty. Or at least that’s what I remember.”
I shook my head as my gaze flicked back to the caravan. An image of the closet full of clothes popped into my head and I couldn’t help the groan that left my lips.
A groan left my lips before I realized it. Of course my brothers wouldn’t hesitate to pull all the stops when it came to me.
Eventually, a car pulled up close to us. The window went down to reveal Cyrus in the driver seat. As soon as he stepped out, his line of focus was me.
There was an apologetic look on his face as he watched me. “I’m sorry, Evelyn. I really wish I could have stayed with you.”
“You won’t be coming with us?” I asked.
He shook his head. “Duty calls. I have to stay back to take care of things at the Royal Academy.”
I nodded at his words. He had responsibilities, and it didn’t make sense to just forgo them for this.
I had Froste and Arthur. They would be enough for the journey we wanted to embark on. That was what I planned on saying to Cyrus.
The words got caught in my throat when I sighted two people from a distance. One royal prince and a war general.
