Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 144

"Zenobia was right. Everyone in the Scott family is ruthless. She wasted years of her life loving a man like you. A scumbag and a bitch—you two deserve each other. Just stay locked together and stop poisoning Zenobia's life."

Having said her piece, Natalie got into her car, leaving Jerome no chance to reply.

He gritted his teeth, any shred of guilt he'd felt completely vanishing. "Natalie, don't you dare slander Yvonne! You were the one who set me up!"

Natalie just scoffed. "Complete idiot."

"Natalie, you—"

Jerome glanced at the police station. What could he even say if he went inside? Larry was his friend. He had to get Natalie to drop the charges. Seeing her car pull away, he jumped into his own and sped after her.

Keith noticed Jerome's car in the rearview mirror, his eyes narrowing. "Jerome's following us."

A cold smile touched Natalie's lips. "Let him. With the evidence we provided, it won't be more than a couple of hours before the news of what those men have done hits the internet." Joanna needed to see it. It would surely ruin her night.

Keith grinned. "I get it."

"Good. There's a mall up ahead. Take us there first; we need to buy some new clothes."

Just as she finished speaking, her phone rang. It was an unknown number. Guessing it was Jerome, she ignored it. But the caller was persistent, ringing again and again until she answered with an annoyed snap. "Hello?"

"Natalie, are you okay?"

That was exactly what Larry had said at the station.

Without waiting for a response, Natalie ended the call and blocked the number. When Sebastian tried to call back, he was met with a dead tone.

"Damn it, Natalie! She blocked me again!" he snarled, his eyes darkening. He roared toward the door, "Sean, get in here!"

Sean flinched. Who had set off the boss this time? The past few months had been hell. Ever since returning from the island, Sebastian had been like a different person.

Just as Sean entered, Sebastian's phone rang again. He answered it. It was Jerome.

"Sebastian, you have to help me!" Jerome pleaded the moment the line connected.
