Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 233

Looking up at the sky, Natalie let out a carefree laugh.

Zenobia, Jerome is getting what he deserves. In two months, Zenobia would be giving birth. She would go visit her then. In her past life, Jerome had married Yvonne, and a series of disastrous events had followed, though the details were fuzzy now. Zenobia had never forgiven him and had found happiness raising her child alone.

Looking back at Marshall, she smiled. “I’m heading out.”

Marshall clutched the list, his gaze fixed on her. “Natalie, how do you know about these people? It’s like you can predict everything before it happens.”

Natalie gave a bitter, sorrowful laugh. I’ve been reborn. I’ve seen the endings of so many lives. Is it any wonder I know these things?

Seeing her desolate smile, Marshall felt an ache spread through his chest.

Her voice, though ethereal and cool, was heavier than the night itself. “If I could really predict the future, I would have known Joanna was plotting against me and stayed home tonight. Marshall, if you doubt me, we don’t have to work together. I’ve done what I can to help you. Goodbye.”

Marshall quickly caught up to her, blocking her path. “Natalie, that’s not what I meant. I just feel like…”

“Like I know everything? Like this was all part of my grand design?” Natalie looked at him, her smile so bright it seemed to be made of unshed tears.

Marshall’s breath caught. In the darkness, her expression was a blur, but he could feel the profound sadness radiating from her. He stood there, for once shedding his playboy persona, looking as steadfast as a pine tree in the night.

Natalie looked back at him. She had never intended to get close to someone like Marshall. They could be acquaintances, allies, but perhaps never friends. In her past life, she had seen how much he doted on Joanna; he probably preferred her type anyway.

“It’s not even nine. I didn’t eat enough at the gala. I’m going home to have dinner with my brother. Luna will take me.”

“Alright.” Marshall was disappointed by her persistent refusal. He understood now. Their relationship was purely transactional; they weren't even really friends, just acquaintances. The realization hit him with a jolt.

He forced a smile. Natalie saw Luna’s car pull up and walked toward it.

Just as she was about to get in, a hand grabbed her arm.

She turned and saw Sebastian. “What do you think you’re doing? Let go!” she snapped. “Are you trying to make a scene? I have no desire to be on the front page tomorrow as the other woman.”
