Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 264

Queena laughed, her eyes crinkling. "You know me, I'm a night owl. When I'm working on a commission, I might not sleep at all." She studied Natalie for a moment, then said, "The harshness around you has softened, Natalie."

Natalie gave a serene smile. "Maybe it's because I saved a life yesterday."

Queena reached out and touched her head with a peculiar, gentle gesture. "Keep doing good deeds, Natalie. You will find happiness." Queena's smile was sincere, her gaze so clear it seemed capable of seeing through all deceit.

"Heh… If you say so, I'm relieved. I know I'll be happy then." Natalie knew Queena would never lie to her. "Queena, I'm in a great mood today, and I don't have to go to the office. Go take a shower and change. Let's go out and get something delicious to eat." She wanted to spend some quality time with her best friend.

Queena's face lit up. "Okay! Wait for me, I'll be right back."

Natalie sat in the garden to wait, scrolling through her phone. She saw a message from Matthew.

[Natalie, I'm back in the country. Are you free for dinner tonight?]

Natalie replied: [Mr. Monroe, would tomorrow night work? I’m taking today off to spend with my best friend.]

Matthew: [Of course. Tomorrow night it is.]

Natalie agreed. It would be a good chance to discuss work with him. Her designs were ready. She looked up at the bright sunshine, determined to live this life to the fullest. Shielding her eyes, she gazed at the clear blue sky, feeling the agitation in her heart finally begin to dissipate.

Her eyes fell, and she began to think about where the boy might be. He was nineteen, in college, and in need of money. But where would he be now?

The news hit Natalie like a punch to the gut. In just one day, so much had changed. A familiar ache spread through her chest. In her past life, Sebastian had done the same thing, helping Joanna achieve her dreams and become a star. But even then, she'd felt something was different about him, as if he were two different people.

She sighed. The power of a first love was truly terrifying.

"Natalie, let's go! I'm ready." Queena appeared, dressed casually in a white t-shirt and blue jeans, her hair pulled back in a ponytail. She radiated youthful energy.

Natalie smiled and walked toward her. They went to the garage, and Natalie drove them downtown for a meal.

They had just sat down at a restaurant when a mocking voice cut through the air. "Well, well! If it isn't Natalie."
