Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 27

At her words, Mrs. Spencer Sr.’s expression hardened instantly.

Nathan grew frantic. That stupid girl! he fumed. This is a chance to secure a partnership, and she wants revenge instead? How could I have such a foolish daughter?

“Natalie, you may have saved me, but that is an outrageous demand,” Madam Spencer said, her voice sharp.

“Is it?” Natalie’s smile was thin and cold. “Let me remind you, Madam Spencer, if you hadn’t been pulled from that pool, the person who set you up would have been targeting the entire Spencer family. I didn’t just save you; I saved your family’s fortune. Is your grandson’s hands too high a price for that? I was vilified online, mocked by your grandson, threatened by him, and hit by him.”

She pointed a furious finger at Sebastian and Joanna. “I was framed by this despicable pair, humiliated by them. And wasn't all of this caused by that woman stealing the credit for saving your life?”

Sebastian stepped forward. “Natalie, breaking Mr. Spencer’s hands is too much. We misunderstood you, and we apologize…”

“Sebastian, shut up,” Natalie snapped. “You don’t even have the right to apologize. You were the main instigator from the very beginning. The lengths you two will go to for a contract with the Spencer family are truly impressive.”

Sebastian’s eyes narrowed. “What are you trying to say?”

Natalie turned back to the matriarch. “What I mean is for the Spencer family to investigate. It has nothing to do with me anymore.”

“Natalie, don’t you trust me?” Sebastian asked, his voice low and strained.

Natalie laughed coldly. “You’ve never trusted me. Why should I trust you?”

Sebastian looked at her defiant, radiant face and felt a tremor run through him. It was true. Ever since Joanna had returned, there had been one conflict after another, and he had never once believed the woman who had stood by him through his hardest times. A wave of guilt washed over him.

Natalie looked at Mrs. Spencer Sr. with an air of finality. “Madam Spencer, if you have no objections, I’m going to proceed.”

The ballroom was dead silent.

The sharp click-clack of Natalie’s heels broke the stillness. She stood over the whimpering Marshall. “I know you’re rich, and I know you’re arrogant. A single word from you subjected me to a torrent of abuse. When you threatened to make my life a living hell, did you have any idea what that really meant?”

“You can be arrogant with your money, but don’t you dare bully people and trample on their lives.”

In her past life, this man, bewitched by Joanna, had tormented her endlessly. This time, she wouldn’t stand for it.

Natalie crouched down and took Marshall’s injured hand.

Mrs. Spencer Sr. couldn’t watch any longer. “Natalie, you’ve had your revenge! What more do you want?” she cried, her voice trembling as she rushed to intervene.
