Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 282

As part of his duties, Sean pulled out his phone to check for any news on Natalie. He had one number that she hadn’t blocked—an old one he rarely used, which she had likely forgotten about. He opened his contacts, hoping to find a social media profile, and saw she had a Facebook account linked to it.

He lit up. “Sir, I found her! Ms. Sanders is on S Island. She went there last night and just posted a story. She’s diving for lobster.”

Sebastian shot up from his seat and snatched the phone.

The picture showed her with a diving instructor, her smile radiant. A memory surfaced—Natalie’s voice, full of hope. “Sebastian, I love the ocean. When your leg heals, will you take me diving?”

He had only given a faint nod at the time, making no promises. She had wanted so badly for him to go with her, but now, she had gone alone.

She had done so much for him, yet he had never done a single thing for her in return. She’d even refused the divorce settlement, saying his money was tainted. He had appreciated her sacrifices but had always taken her presence for granted. For two years, she had stood by him during the most difficult period of his life, yet he had never truly seen her. He’d just assumed she was after the title of Mrs. Griffith and that her position would be secure even after Joanna returned.

A tight, suffocating pain spread through his chest. He didn’t know when it had started, but seeing her smile like that at another man was agonizing.

“She didn’t block this number?” Sebastian asked.

“No, sir,” Sean explained. “It was a backup number I gave her a while ago. I added her on social media with it, and I guess she forgot to block this account.”

“No, sir,” Sean replied, shaking his head. “I’ve checked every hotel registry. There’s no record of them together, except for that one time.” Joanna had covered her tracks well.

“You know, sir,” Sean added, his voice low, “I really think you’ve made a mistake this time. I’ve been with you for years, and I don’t think anyone in this world will ever love you the way Ms. Sanders did.”

Sean genuinely felt sorry for him. Joanna and Natalie were polar opposites. Natalie was sincere and pure-hearted, while Joanna was a master manipulator. She played hot and cold with Sebastian, expertly toying with his emotions.

Sean’s words were the final push that sent Sebastian’s already aching heart into the abyss.
