Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 371

The old woman's eyes welled up with tears of joy. She'd met a true benefactor.

It was wonderful; her grandson finally had a future.

"My dear, my grandson is such a good boy. It's just that I'm an old woman with nothing to offer, and he's suffered so much with me from a young age. He was on the verge of not even being able to go to college."

"I don't have any other wishes. I just hope he can finish college and find a good job. Then I can rest in peace."

"Don't you worry about the money for his schooling. Once Ian starts working, he'll pay you back every penny."

Natalie knew this was the hope of every parent.

"As long as you cooperate with the treatment, you'll surely see Ian's future success. As for his education, I'll take care of it."

The old woman was moved to tears, clutching Natalie's hand and thanking her profusely.

That very night, Natalie arranged for the old woman's transfer to a better hospital.

After an examination, Luna was diagnosed with just a strained arm—nothing serious. A little rest at home would do the trick.

Natalie and Luna went to the hospital, where Herbert happened to be. After settling Ian's grandmother into a room, Natalie took Ian to see him.

"Herbert, these are Ian's grandmother's medical records. Now that you're back, you're the perfect person to perform this surgery. It's a minimally invasive procedure, your exact area of expertise from your time abroad."

Herbert picked up the scans and examined them closely, his brow furrowing. "The shadow is quite large, but a minimally invasive procedure is still feasible. I'll give her a full check-up tomorrow. But you'll have to get me a position at your hospital."

That was exactly what Natalie had been waiting to hear. "How about Chief of Surgery? I wanted you to come back to take that position anyway."

"I'll have HR process the appointment immediately. I'm going to be incredibly busy for the next couple of years and won't be able to manage the hospital. With you here, I can rest easy."

Natalie knew Herbert was an exceptional doctor. He was practically family, and she believed in keeping talent close.

Herbert beamed. Was life always this amazing?

No wonder Natalie wanted to help him. But why was he glaring at him like he was the enemy?

Herbert gave Natalie a look full of hidden meaning.

Natalie put a hand to her forehead. Was it possible Herbert was getting the wrong idea?

After they exchanged numbers, Natalie turned to Ian. "Ian, why don't you head back to the room for now? Herbert and I are going to discuss your grandmother's condition. We've arranged a two-room suite for her, and it has a small kitchenette so you can prepare meals. You can stay and take care of her, just no open flames."

Ian smiled gratefully. "Thank you!"

Then he asked timidly, "Can we exchange numbers too?"

His face flushed after he spoke. He was handsome, but under Natalie's pure gaze, he felt a wave of inadequacy.

"Of course. After your grandmother's surgery, once she's recovering well, I'll arrange for your studies."
