A small smile played on Natalie's lips, making her beautiful eyes shine. “Say what? You and I have nothing to talk about, except for the divorce.”
Sebastian's chest tightened. The word 'divorce' ignited a fire in his eyes. He didn't want a divorce.
“Grandma and Grandpa would never agree to it. They adore you. Have you already forgotten how good they've been to you?”
Sebastian didn't look at Natalie as he spoke. He knew it was a weak excuse, but it was the only one he had.
When a person stops caring, they have no vulnerabilities.
She used to care about the Scott family, which made her hold back, but not anymore.
Now that Natalie cared about nothing, nothing could be used to threaten her.
Natalie thought of the senior Griffiths, her feelings complicated. “I haven't forgotten how good Grandma and Grandpa have been to me. I can still visit them after we're divorced.”
Sebastian frowned, saying nothing, just watching her intently.
“Sebastian, why didn't you wait for me? I'm in heels and I twisted my ankle. It really hurts,” Joanna whined, walking up to Sebastian and linking her arm through his affectionately.
Sebastian didn't pull away, merely glancing at her. “The paths on this island are uneven. Why are you wearing heels? Go back and change. I'll wait here.”
Hearing that, Natalie knew they were sharing a room, and her heart couldn't help but sting.
Even though she knew they'd been having an affair for a long time, it still hurt.
She had, after all, truly loved Sebastian once. The pain was to be expected.
Joanna smiled, her voice gentle. “It's fine, Sebastian. I'll change when we get to the set. My agent brought plenty of shoes for me.” As she spoke, she glanced at Natalie.
