Yvonne crossed her arms, looking at Susan defiantly. “Susan, when has Natalie ever not tried to frame Joanna? You two are always up to no good. What are you planning today? This is a big day for Joanna, the start of her new film. Don't you dare cause any trouble. Mr. Warner is here, and he won't stand for your dirty tricks.”
“Please! Yvonne, before you run your mouth, maybe you should figure out who the father of your baby is. You're so quick to defend Joanna and build up her image, but do you really think people will believe she's a beautiful, kind-hearted saint just because you say so? And that makes me and Natalie the wicked villains trying to frame her? I think you've been reading too many novels. Some things require proof. If you're not afraid of her saintly image shattering, then by all means, keep stirring up trouble.”
“We were just coming here for dinner and had no idea we'd run into you. And you immediately accuse us of plotting against Joanna. Yvonne, you must be psychic. In that case, why don't you predict who the father of your baby is?”
Yvonne's eyes widened, and she shrieked uncontrollably, “Susan, what nonsense are you talking about? The baby is Jerome's! Just because he's abroad, you think you can bully me like this?”
“Who's bullying you? You're the one who jumped to Joanna's defense. Look at yourself, so pathetic. Instead of being someone's lapdog, you should focus on improving yourself and making something of your own life.”
Susan felt that last piece of advice was probably wasted. A person like Yvonne wouldn't understand anyway.
“Alright, Yvonne, I'm fine. Natalie and Susan haven't done anything. Let's just go inside and have dinner,” Joanna said, gently taking her arm.
Confronting Natalie head-on right now would only put her at a disadvantage. Once Sebastian and Natalie were divorced, she could act without restraint, but until then, her hands were tied.
Joanna then turned to Natalie. “Natalie, since we ran into each other, it must be fate. Why don't you join us for dinner?”
Joanna reached out to take Natalie's arm.
Natalie instinctively tried to step back, but Joanna suddenly threw herself backward onto the ground.
“Ah...” Joanna looked up at Natalie, her eyes welling with tears. She choked out, “Natalie, I'm sorry. I was just trying to be nice and invite you to dinner. I didn't realize you wouldn't want to. It's my fault. I know you didn't mean to push me. I'm fine, so don't worry about it.”
