“Natalie didn’t use my money to buy the land. She left with nothing. Didn’t Joanna tell you that?”

Sebastian’s voice was ice-cold. Even through the phone, Colin felt a chill run down his spine, though he had no idea which of his words had provoked Sebastian.

Colin asked, confused, “Sebastian, could she have secretly embezzled money from your company? Or maybe she took one of your credit cards when she left?”

“Colin, if you’re not going to use your brain, I suggest you get it checked out. When she left, she walked straight out of your Scott family home. I give Joanna five million a month in spending money; I never gave Natalie a single cent. There aren’t many people like you in the world,” Sebastian added, implying only the Scotts could be so shameless.

“Colin, Natalie was good to you, too. When you were in the hospital with a high fever, none of your family would stay with you. Only she was willing to watch over you, taking care of you for three days and three nights without leaving your side. And this is how you treat her?”

Colin paused. He had long forgotten about that, though it seemed there were other instances as well.

“Sebastian, she left me to rot last night! Natalie may look innocent, but she’s a vicious snake. I don’t acknowledge a sister like her. I’m trying to talk about something important here. Joanna wants that land. Figure something out. If she can’t get it, she’ll start crying again, and you know you can’t stand to see her cry.”

On Sebastian’s end, the line went dead.

Colin was taken aback. Sebastian had always doted on Joanna. Why would he suddenly hang up on him?

He tried calling again, but Sebastian didn't answer.

Colin was shocked. Had the meal ticket finally woken up?

He thought back to those three days and nights he was sick. Joanna had been practicing the piano, and he hadn’t wanted to bother her. But Natalie was used to hard work since childhood, so what was the big deal about her taking care of him for three days?
